Every month we put four amazing Planet Coaster creators in the spotlight; each Featured Creator will have one week dedicated to them, their amazing Workshop, and other wonderful contributions to our community. This month we are talking to Aritario, Woody, Fricker, and ShadowXPhoenix, who can also be found on the Planet Coaster globe!

We will continue with:

You are one of my personal all-time favourites, Aritario, so good to have you with us. What made you get started with Planet Coaster?
Hi and thanks for having me here. My beginnings with Planet Coaster go back to the time of RCT3. Having played for a long time and watching the years go by without any update or other theme park simulation game of this calibre, it was a great surprise and excitement to discover Planet Coaster’s announcement on Facebook. That was definitely the beginning of a wonderful stage full of hours playing, learning, creating and meeting more people.

Tell us a little about yourself, what you study/work/do in real life.
I'm from Cuba and currently living in Florida, US. My full time job is Banquet Captain Hilton Hotels which occupies me a lot and when I am free I like to play Planco among many things, hanging out with friends, and most of all to cook. I enjoy the kitchen, in addition to the music, Sci-fi/horror movies, and collecting action figures.

How do you feel about being part of the Planet Coaster community?
Planet Coaster for me is much more than a game: the best simulation game right now! It has one of the best communities I have known for a while. You come to sympathize with other players, discuss topics or find someone to explain or guide you to a better understanding. We have people who encourage us to participate and create, we have excellent creators who share details of their work here and exhort or challenge the rest to continue their legacy. But what has excited me the most in being part of the Planet Coaster community is the respect and constant work at the service of our community by Frontier Developments. You made the call to come and be part of Planet Coaster, you listen and follow up on our comments. You promise and fulfil our dreams. What more can I ask for?

What is your favourite feature in the game?
My favourite feature in the game is the 3 axis rotation. We can do so much and the variety of objects and buildings we can create using this feature never ceases to amaze me. For example, we still have no ceiling fans officially implemented in the game and thanks to the 3 axis rotation tool I was able to make this simple but effective item in less than an hour.

What is your favourite creation/video you’ve ever created (so far)?
Every creation or finished blueprint is a goal achieved and when you see the dedication to it is rewarded with subscribers and likes, the joy is even greater.
Of course, in matters of favourites I have to recognize that the Planet Coaster community in general (Frontier and us) has been a fundamental link in developing or maintaining a perception of the work done. Three of my most selected works have also been favourites by the general community including Frontier devs, which pleases me very much.
"Art in the Park Mural 03" and "Halloween Large Pumpkin Scenery" are two of these blueprints and the third and most beloved I believe will always be "Fantasy Flowers Scenery".

Tell us a little about your creative process – how long do your creations take, do you listen to music or work for hours and hours until something is perfect?
Over time I have learned to surprise myself and the best way to achieve this is by understanding my own needs and tastes. You think of something, create a concept and materialize the object. Think of something missing or something that exists but you could improve, think of second or third versions and from there be a little self-critical with each step. But above all I have to feel satisfied, fulfilled, pleased with the result. If this goal is not achieved then the probability of stopping and abandoning the project is imminent. It is a relationship between myself and the expectations of myself or others. I have no limits or requirements regarding the scale of the work, how big or difficult it can be; the most important thing is that I believe in the project.

What inspires you?
Music, definitely what has inspired me all my life has been music. Regarding Planet Coaster, my biggest inspiration has come to me when I'm driving and listening to the official soundtrack songs or the ambient versions songs. When inspired, I can be working for hours and sometimes for days on the same project! Sometimes I'm finished and I do not like it, I leave it aside or I simply delete; I don’t like dragging it out when I’m not happy with something. Another way is to experiment with the pieces of the game, changing positions and colours until I achieve something new or different.

What makes you (and your creations) stand out?
Consistency and being hard on myself. I love and trust my full time work out there and I apply it also when I am creating in Planet Coaster regardless of the size or difficulty of the process. I pay attention to my imagination and the images that jump in my mind, that's what I want others to see.

If you were to dress up as a Planet Coaster mascot, which one would it be?
I think it would be Gold King Coaster.

Pass on the praise: which creator do YOU admire?
Xtraordinar, Whitesider, Sdanwolf, and Kimattacks – the list has more names and I know it is going to be longer but these four creators are the ones that I follow more closely due to their level of creation, participation, and relation with the community.

Wonderful interview Aritario. Looking forward to seeing some of your creations that Bo picks to feature on the livestreams this week. Enjoy your time as a featured creator and have fun ;)
