Every month we put four amazing Planet Coaster creators in the spotlight; each Featured Creator will have one week dedicated to them, their amazing Workshop, and other wonderful contributions to our community. This final month we are talking to Rudi Rennkamel, Whitesider, Thim_V, and DeLadysigner, who can also be found on the Planet Coaster globe!
Here’s one of our most creative thinkers, Rudi Rennkamel!

How did you get started with Planet Coaster?
It started rather happy. I was suffering from a very bad flu and even needed to get a lymph node removed. In that week, I needed to stay at home, the first Alpha of Planet Coaster was released and it appeared you could build Star Destroyers with the Pirates set...
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I work fulltime in an advertisement agency and in addition I am about to finish my master studies in “Leadership in digital communication” at the university of arts in Berlin & Zurich, which I have now done for about 1 ½ years, mostly on the weekends. Looking forward to more free time next year!
What inspires you?
Communication! I love to chat and talk to people, get to know more about them, what they do and where they are from, what drives them. You can learn so much about life by just listening and talking. And this really inspires me to think about everything the way others would do it, to get different POVs.
What is your favourite feature in the game?
Nobody wants to read 3 pages of pure praise, right? So, I will say: the guests. I love the interaction, the emotions, the natural behaviour and all of this. If buildings are finished, just let your guests come in and it looks a million times better immediately. Having picnic benches and curbs improves this even further.
What makes you and your creations stand out?
I thought about this question for a long time as it seems I don´t really have a certain thing in what makes me stand out. But if I need to choose, I´d say my weird ideas and out of the box attempts are what I am known for, so that’s maybe something to call my signature.
Tell us a little bit about your creative process!
Referring to what I do in my “normal” life, PlanCo is really my little escape from reality, and I can totally sink into it. I listen to music but also podcasts and then go with the flow. Most often I have way too many ideas at once, so I just go for the one that flows best. But there´s no such a thing like a “normal” workflow. Sometimes the flow won´t let me out of the game for hours, but there are also days where I just have an hour and I do exactly what I planned to do before.
What is your favourite creation so far?
Hands down the custom Motion Simulator ride. It combines every aspect of the game, a coaster, billboards, fireworks, crazy detailed scenery, sound, triggered events etc. and it even exceeded my own expectations. I had this in mind for a very very long time, but seeing it work 100% like I imagined was just a big satisfaction.
How do you feel about being a part of the Planet Coaster community?
It’s strange. I mean it's a big group of people from all around the globe with entirely different stories and backgrounds and yet we all share the same passion. Not exaggerating I made actual friends in the community, we chat each and every day and it's become a vital part of my life. So I am really feeling honoured to be a part of all this.
What’s your favourite mascot?
Is there a camel mascot yet? No? Okay I go for Gulpee. He delivers the energy I need!
:rex::smile:
Pass on the Praise!
I could easily mention Silv and Lady, but that's too easy. Honestly, Mike Sheets aka N7 and Maskedbandit really nail it. Their unbelievable passion and patience to achieve the most realistic result is brilliant and a welcome compensation of all of my over the top ideas.
