Every month we put four amazing Planet Coaster creators in the spotlight; each Featured Creator will have one week dedicated to them, their amazing Workshop, and other wonderful contributions to our community. This month we are talking to Kimattacks, _fog, Kombat Wombat, and Tillietwos, who can also be found on the Planet Coaster globe!
Let’s continue with:

Tillie, we know you from your amazingly fantastical buildings! How did you get started with Planet Coaster?
I started with the RCT series playing with my kids and over the past 10 years I kept checking to see if they were ever going to come out with a new RCT. Then I kept seeing the name Planet Coaster. I started checking it out and realised that Frontier were the developers of Planet Coaster and I knew right away this was the game I wanted to buy. I bought into it before it was released so I have been here from the very beginning. Waiting for the initial download of the game for me was like being a little kid waiting for Christmas! Once I started playing PC I realized my old computer just wouldn’t handle the game the way I wanted to play so I ended up buying a really nice gaming computer just to play Planet Coaster. I’m not a gamer by any means so it IS just to play the game. Does that make me a Planet Coaster addict?! Oh dear, I might need to go to rehab!
What makes you and your creations stand out?
It seems to me that my subscribers appreciate the details and time I spend on each piece. I know I will never have thousands of followers and lots of 5 Star ratings because I don’t do any streaming of any kind to promote myself, but I am having fun and I now have 51 followers and 24 friends on Steam, and belong to two amazing forums. It can’t get much better than that.
What is your favourite feature in the game?
Because I like creating buildings I have to say my favourite feature is all the building tools, trees, flowers and props. We can never have enough props... (hint hint). I like using all the special effects as well like bubbles, water, and mist, and when the water tool arrived I had lots of fun building ponds around my castles and lakes for my pirates. The technology for creating videos, placing fireworks, syncing music, and adding triggers is way over my head so I think, for now, I will stick to what seems to work for me – creating themed buildings. The hardest part is trying to come up with a new idea.
Tell us a little about your creative process!
I first pick a theme, and then look for proper walls that would work with that theme before I start building and see where it takes me. Many, many times walls go up and then I tear them back down and start over trying different angles and heights. I really don’t care how many times I have to take it apart, because if I’m not happy with the way it’s going, what’s the point of continuing just to get it done? The fun for me in this game is building, so if it takes me a day or a week to build a wall it really doesn’t matter. I go through all the props and spread the ones I think I might use out on the grass as well as anything else I find that could be useful. This way I can see everything laid out while I’m building. It can take me weeks and weeks to complete a project. I know there are things that no one else would even notice but if I see the joints between two beams aren’t lined up, I will spend a good hour fixing it. I guess I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to details. I will sometimes listen to music and sometimes just sit in the quiet but I really like to take my computer outside to my patio and watch and listen to the birds and squirrels and build away. That can be very inspirational.
What inspires you?
I love looking at all the other creators’ pieces, either in the workshop or in the forums. Everyone is so creative. You can always get inspiration from each other and hopefully my creations inspire others as well.
What is your favourite creation/video you’ve ever created (so far)?
This is a tough one. Every time I finish a creation, I think to myself: “wow this is my favourite one so far.” Then I create something else and think the same thing, so right now I would say my favourite would have to be Amelie’s Train Station, which just beat out my Sunset Saloon which was my favourite and in turn the Saloon beat out my Western Hats. See what I mean… it’s hard to just pick one!
How do you feel about being part of the Planet Coaster community?
Nothing but true love… We started out with a small group in the forums, all of us together anxiously waiting for the release day and we quickly became friends. Some of those original people are still around and more people arrived to the forums, which meant more friends. I also can’t say enough good things about the moderators and everyone else that looks after the community behind the scenes. Everyone working at Frontier is awesome. I feel part of a big family where everyone helps each other out by answering even the smallest questions. I’m glad to be a part of it all.
If you were to dress up as a Planet Coaster mascot, which one would it be?
Well, I’m really not a princess type so it wouldn’t be Amelie, so I would say because of the red hair my pick would be Miss Elly.

Pass on the praise: which creator do YOU admire?
This one is pretty easy for me. It was way back at the beginning when I first started playing the game and you announced that there was going to be a video competition. I knew for sure I wouldn’t be entering the contest because I didn’t even know it was possible to record your gameplay, let alone how to do it. It wasn’t long before some entries started popping up on the forums and I started watching them and then I watched Dragon Kingdom by Coastercad. I couldn’t believe that what I was watching had actually been built in Planet Coaster and the storyline and music choices and all the creativity was awesome.
After about the 5th time I watched it, I thought, he has to win this competition with that video and he did. All the other entries were really good but Coastercad’s gave me goose bumps. I had some company about month ago and they asked me what the game was all about… the first thing I showed them was that video.
But I also want to praise Games4Tom. He is not only very creative with every theme we have, but I believe he is a very kind soul as well. I have seen him on the forums welcoming new members and leaving encouraging and positive feedback to others. He is very active on the livestreams as well, always saying hello to everyone he knows. I think he was the first person to send me a friend request which made me feel very much part of the community. So yes, I would say I admire Games4Tom in many ways.
Thank you Tillietwos for telling us about yourself! Next week we are talking to Aritario, who stands out through incredibly artistic creations.
