Features for which Frontier has 'no plans' (forum guesses)

respect for players time.

the new engineering is unforgivable.
almost as unforgivable as implementing spacelegs with a whole bunch of that no one was asking for, without the ONE SINGLE THING THAT WE WANTED SPACELEGS FOR.

I asked what Arthur / FD had in store for Power play almost a year ago now.

Is this like when mums and dads 'go to buy cigarettes' and just run off, never to be seen again?

One of the Q&As did talk about a balance pass for Powerplay, but even that now looks like some way off dream.
With kids like us who would blame them?

Features for which Frontier has 'no plans'

BUT - Should have Plans to implement....

PVP Match Making System............. i mean a massive multiplayer space and leg sim with no ability to do organised competitive PVP.... who needs a kicking to see the money that could be made by supporting competitive PVP

NPC CREW

Which is a shame, because I am LOVING my NPC crew in X4. The NPC crew gives more purpose to space legs, because I can walk around the bridge of my destroyer while in a long battle and observe the battle from different vantage points while issuing orders to my crew. They not only provide ambiance with their presence on deck, but also their various verbal interactions with me and each other. It really adds a whole new level of immersion, and it makes big ships feel BIG.

Like Admiral Kirk, I can take command whenever I feel it's necessary, or like Luke Skywalker I can run down to the flight deck and hop in a fighter to help protect my destroyer against waves of small ships (like the epic battle I had last night). And if my fighter gets destroyed, I'm floating in space in my emergency EVA (no telepresence), and the crew of my destroyer will have to pick / beam me up before I run out of air.

I really don't enjoyed big ships in ED, and it's mostly due to the lack of scale, which is partly due to a lack of crew and "cockpit" legs. Having been spoiled by X4 crew and space leg mechanics (which go hand-in-hand IMO), I will likely remain a small ship pilot in ED for as long as I play, because it's the only size ship that feels "right" and immersive in ED. Even then, I've created my own copilot using an alt-account, because it feels so much better having someone sitting beside me in my Cobra, even if all they do is sit there.

As far as 'No Plans', that means they will not be in as part of Odyssey ;-
  1. Ship Interiors
  2. EVA & Zero-G Gameplay
  3. Player owned stations
  4. Planetary mining
  5. Base building
  6. Fleshed out economy (stockmarket, real supply / demand etd)
We've had the CMs say they'll look into the following after Odyssey is released on console.
  1. Powerplay
  2. CQC
What we might get in the remainder of Odyssey.

1. New Ship
2. New SRVs
3. Thargoid combat on the ground
