Fed Rank

I'm looking for the most efficient method of increasing Fed rank, mainly because I have a desire to finally fly a Corvette.
Frankly, I dont have all that many hours in a week to play and would like to have my own Corvette before I die.

Correct me if I'm wrong: I can increase my rank with Feds by...

> Hanging out in Fed controlled space doing missions.

> Stacking missions

> Increasing rep with local factions (by-product of doing missions)

> Having the money to donate to charity missions when they appear (by-product of doing missions)

What I want to know is is there any other ways to increase my rank?

Any advice is welcome, how are the best Cmdrs increasing their rank these days?

Thanks!

As you have stated. Planetary scan missions give you good rep, as do the donate cargo missions. Find a good system (I used 1 I Centauri) and do the data missions as well.

For me, the thing that really started to help me, was to not obsess about finding the perfect spot with the perfect missions. If you can home yourself at a decent Fed base, then just start taking appropriate Fed missions as they come up. When you get out a bit to a few bases, take a few more as they come up. Don't go too far down the rabbit hole, as I once spent 3 hours one night, just bouncing around bases, trying to max out missions, and I realized I had about 5 remaining missions at 5 different bases, and I was about 100 ly away from home. It took me another 1-2 hours to complete those 5 and get back home.

Make sure to prioritize the rep missions flagged with ++ or +++. Even with a good payout, single + ranked missions will be a waste of your time.

I visited 1 I Centauri just now, the missions there are wide in variety when it comes to destination & I only saw one or two donation missions. There is a fair number of missions, but with so many possible destinations. So it's no different most other systems, really.

At least stations in boom state will give you lots of "deliver information" type of missions. They give Rep++, often go to the same few destinations, and when selected wisely can rep you up much quicker then the longer endeavours of Rep+++ missions - which you still can make in parallel. I can easily raise 15-25% in ranking within an hour. Yesterday I was able to stack so many of these missions that I could not accept any more, leading me to 3 neighbor systems and 5 dockings.

Hello,

right now, i also want to rank up my fed ranking.
I'm running Alcohol from Tun to Hyperion(Rukavishnikov Installation / Howe Platform) . The pay is good, but not outstanding. From there i run Data to LHS 356 (not quite shure about the name) for a lousy payout. And finally i fly back to Tun. Because there are no missions i 'm looking if there is some lucrative cargo to haul. Most important for me - the advance in the Ranking is quite good.
Getting alcohol to the people seems to be important for the Government (its like real life).

The best luck I've had thus far is Gliese 868 (particularly the planetary bases). I've been keeping an eye out for something better (basically without 8 different stations in 1 system, and the other system has no bases & only 2 stations to collect missions from) but haven't come across anything yet.

Thanks for the advice. I sometimes have trouble getting the promotion missions to appear too. Is it better to hang out in a system with a military economy (did I just make that up?) or can you get them anywhere?

For me I haven't noticed anything related to faction type.

Also for the record, Ceos/Sothis is inferior to Gliese 868. I've experimented, allied with the *one* Federal faction out there, and it's difficult to get more than 5-10 missions at a time. Presumably being in a boom state can help, but really, it's not worth the trip. The supercruise times for stations about 1500-2500 ls out as well is not much more than going through 5-6 stations in Gliese 868.

I found Pleiades to have a lot of simple mission runs because the core systems are all tightly packed together, trading among themselves. It was very easy for me to max out my mission stack at every station. Basically you circle missions between Stargazer, Reed's Rest, and Hudson. Throw in the occasional Maia Point or Alcazar's Hope to earn a bit more coin and land on a planet for a change.

Passenger missions are also good because transporting famous people is a guaranteed Rep+++ mission. Plus you get payed well too. Rhea or Sol are good systems to harbour because they have only federal factions.

You can also visit bust or outbreak systems. The more federal factions, the better. They'll have a high probability of donation missions and you can pay-2-win your way to admiral.

Finally, don't worry about promotion unless you really want that rank insignia or are on your last rank stretch. You will automatically be promoted to the next rank once you achieve 100% of the next rank (you always gain rank, even if you're still at 100%). I've been doing that for my Imperial rank as I don't want to be bothered with fetch quests. When I've done enough mission runs, I just get an e-mail that says I've been promoted, then my interface shows I already have 100% of the next rank covered.

Barnard's Star has 4 directly affiliated Fed factions. Get allied with them all and the missions will flow. Good paying. Good inf ++ +++ missions. I made 3 ranks in a month only playing 2 to 3 hours a day. Allied with most of the Fed factions in the neighboring systems. Work or money isnt a issue.
