Horizons Federal Capital ship confirmation, and dirty federal tricks

I was simply investigating the reports that a capital ship was in the merope 2A system. Found the ship hovering over a barnacle, which was also being protected by turrets and skimmers.
I am unarmed and an admiral in the federal navy.
Without warning, i was shot down by almost a dozen federal ships, but managed to get a few pics before i was destroyed.

What are the federation up to, shooting down helpless unarmed officers of there own fleet. Shame on them. What are they hiding?? Barnacles.

I suspect an alien trust. Trust no one.

Yeah, well, everyone could just do a handful of missions and get to claim they were in both the Federal and Imperial Navies. The sad fact is, rank is nothing more than a grind to lock access to certain ships, and has absolutely no other meaning in the game.

I would love for there to be a real Navy career path in the game.
