Ships Federal Corvette - I think I really like this ship!

Before I left ED, I was a big time Cutter fan. Coming back to I'm finding that I'm really enjoying the Federal Corvette.

The Survey body kit looks amazing on it.

I got the Guardian FSD boost, and I'm getting close to 30LY with her.

Here is her current build. https://s.orbis.zone/o2fm

I'm bringing her into a Hazard resource zone to see how she does!

How did she do? Congrats on the ship. What did you name it?

I looked at your build and want to make a couple comments. My intention is not to turn your Vette in to my Vette, but there are a couple of things that stand out.

Bi-Weaves are an uncommon choice for a ship like this. I'm a big bi-weaves fan myself, most of my ships use them. The thing with the Vette is though, that it is a target. Big and relatively slow and gets hit a lot. Your shields currently have good recovery and recharge times which will help. My main concern is the thermal protection from those shields. You can see you get a effective thermal mj of 953. And I think if you want these shields to not collapse in combat you'll need to raise this, quite a lot.

It appears you've started engineering and that's a long road, but as you do more I'd suggest ensuring you concentrate on raising the thermal resistance of your ship either through shield modification, booster modification, or both.

If the ship feels insufficiently protected I'd suggest considering a revamp of your optional internals. AFMUs in a combat ship probably aren't needed, and you have two, plus a big hangar, and if your intention is to use this Vette in combat you might consider swapping these for modules which improve your survivability.

Regardless, enjoy the new ship and good hunting commander

Great call outs, thank you. Her name is Imperial Corvette! I have since updated it:

Sorry for the long link, not sure how to link it better.

Either way, I made some tweaks to her, as she needed engineering and her time to kill was way to slow!

With my new build, my time to kill significantly improved. Her shields can / will drop in a Conflict Zone, but, with the Armor I'm good.

As for the other internals, I like them, as I don't have to go back to a base to change ships or update modules, unless I want to mine or something like that. Moreover, 96 Tons of fuel keeps me moving through the verse!

I do need to modify my railguns to use fuel, and then 96T will provide almost unlimited action!

If that is how your ship is now built and not a mock-up of what you intend to do, then yeah, you've increased thermal mj by ten fold and, well, that's like way better.

Good hunting commander

Sorry I don't know, but I have not seen any evidence it can be done. Personally I don't have any ships with a size 7 internal to test it aside from the Cutter and I don't run limpets in that ship. The mass on that thing is insane, so I hope you can engineer it!

Do you know if you can engineer the universal limpet controller?

Ok, here it is now! I'm pretty sure I'm done with it

now to put it to the test: https://edsy.org/#/L=Hz00000H4C0S00...52220BeE001LU0034a000M2200M2206BUG04m_W02jw00
I'm sorry, but usually put something to corrode the hull, otherwise the hull will collapse for a long time.
And if you use beam lasers in two 4 slots, then only effective ones, as only with them you can shoot long enough with 4 pips in the weapon.

Corvette is an amazing especially for combat.
If you engineer it right you can do some wild things with it. I made mine an all comer shield tank with a fighter bay, and Planetary vehicle.
I can snooze through Haz sights and easily deal with Threat 6 and 7 combat sites.

If you engineer it right, you can get pretty good jump range. I think mine is at like 28 or 29 LY with out a FSD. My general rule of thumb is i try to make a ship that can always make it to beagle point, and with an FSD it can do it easy.

Great ship super fun.
