Federal Idiot Forces

Dear devs, please do something with the federal security (idiot) forces.

one of them moved into my fire during a fight and i got tagged as an enemy, i managed it to escape and flew to a station to pay my fine. during the landing process i got scanned by a fed sec ship and attacked, the mass lock made it impossible to escape and so i got killed by a player who is now 200 credits richer and i am 21.000 credits poorer because of the insurance costs, cargo and lost bounties.

my proposal:

give the fines for shooting some fed sec forces a timer, so the player will only get tagged as "wanted", if he doesnt pay the fine withing the given time.

In your suggestion I could murder anybody I liked without consequences as long as I paid the fine off in time. Remember you have to include players in whatever workaround is implemented too ;)

See what you think of my suggestion and if you can think of ways to exploit it as I am keen to know if it would work.
 
It takes two to tango. Can you be sure you didn't maneuver in behind the Fed in the heat of a dogfight? Just pay attention to your surroundings, maintaining situational awareness as you would if this were "real". You'll find that friendly fire incidents almost grind to a halt and you become a better pilot for it.
 
Would be easy sto solve the problem, make a difference between npc and players. killing players would be handeled the same way it is now.
also add a "three strikes" rule. the fine would have a timer if you didnt destoy the npc and did more than X damage.
 
Turning off your 'Report Crimes Against Me' flag sometimes helps with this. At least then, the Federales won't join fights to try to protect you.
