Federal Invitation mission not available

The next Navy rank mission available to me is the Federal Invitation to meet representative at Sol. The reward is a Sol permit

It's not available because I already (as a Beta backer) have a permit for Sol.

I am worried that the completion of this mission might be needed for the next one to become available, but as I can't accept it i may have hit a progression dead end.

Anyone else in this situation? And has anyone managed to get the next mission offered?

It's a bug if I am at a dead end, I'm going to see if anyone has got past this point before I report it.

Wasn't a dead end for me (already had permit). Further progression missions have popped up.

It's not a bug in the sense that you're "stuck". You already have the permit, the reward of the mission is the permit itself. Since you already have the permit, you don't need to do the mission.

Nothing happens if you take the mission and go to Sol anyway. It's probably just a poorly worded mission text.

it's just a permit reward, you don't actually get a mission to go to sol/achenar.

Had this myself. Just to be clear, if we have the permit already, we just need to wait for further progression missions - is that the case.

Was wondering this myself, often get several of these invitations on the same bulletin board. Haven't had any missions for the Feds since the invitation s started showing up.

So once the mission shows up, do we need to go to Sol regardless? I too cannot get the mission, so I just went to Sol. Now I do not see any missions. Just hang at Sol? I can go back on my merry way and the next mission will pop up regardless where I am?
