Federal Lakon variant

As the star approaches its solar minimum, the majestic space cows return to their historic spawning grounds near the corona to mate. The males attempt to approach the females, performing the space cow mating dance as they go. If they are accepted by the females, the males will extend their telescoping fuel line into the female, unloading tons of biomechanical starship fuel into her storage tanks. The female will store this fuel inside her body for some time, using it both as a food source and to inseminate her blueprints.
Was exploring one of the Unidentified Signal Sources when I came upon what seems to be a Federal fleet staging area. One of the ships was a Lakon Tanker variant. Looks like it's refuelling another Lakon!

David has mentioned previously that some of the bigger ships will be able to connect with one another for the purposes of exchanging cargo and so on so maybe this is what were seeing here. Great find though.
I wouldn't know about things like this in space
Wish I could have got a screenshot of the two Federal Dreadnoughts I saw in another area - they were definitely mating, but I crashed to desktop while they were still twitching
