Newcomer / Intro Federal Navy Strike Contract not updating.

I accepted the mission. It states "You are required to deal with 3 bounty hunters of the Values Party of LHS 215. You should find targets in the conflict zones of the LHS 215 system. Come and get your reward from me at the Chwedyk Station." So I went to that system. Went to a conflict zone. Picked the opposite side of the Values Party of LHS 215. Killed 6 targets of the Values Party and the mission never registered anything. Jumped out and rejoined the conflict zone and picked different faction (thought I was maybe picking the wrong one). Killed a few more targets of the other faction. Still no update to the mission. What am I doing wrong?!?!

When you scan the targets, does it say "mission target" or something to that effect?

No it doesn't. I can't seem to ever find any that say that. I've done other missions that I've noticed the "Mission target" thing on there. Is there a trick to finding these targets?

I remember meeting this as a bug quite a while ago, and never did them since. It looks like the bug continues, so that you don't see "mission target" even when they are from the appropriate faction.

If so, that's disappointing, because I thought it had been fixed.

Yeah I've heard from multiple sources that it's a bug. But was hoping they were wrong. Not a big fan of developers taking so long to fix bugs but always wanting to throw out new content.

I figured it out! For some reason it was telling me to kill the 3 bounty hunters but the mission was already done. The part I don't understand is why did it tell me to kill those next? My original mission was to kill people in a completely different system. Thank you all for your help though!

Yeah but it just spawned new dialogue for a new mission. I wasn't able to find anything at the new location it gave me. I had already killed the original targets. But the mission was actually complete and I just turned it in at Gresley Dock where I got it.

I'm not sure if my problem was the exact same as that. Mine was a promotion mission for the federation. It sent me to a system to kill x amount of targets. I did that and then new dialogue popped up in the mission window. The new dialogue told me to go to a different system and kill 3 more people. But I think the bug is that new dialogue appeared at all. Because I went to the new system and killed the targets it told me to and the mission would never update showing that I killed the new ones. I decided to just go back to the original location where I picked the mission up and it was completed. So long story short. I accepted the promotion mission. Killed the first targets. Got a new update to my mission. The new update was wrong and the mission was already done.
