Federation Military Ranking

Well, as many have probably figured out with the BGS upgrades many previous places where one could efficiently upgrade their Federation ranking no longer exist. The latest update basically added more planets with stations surrounding them. Now one has to travel to a dozen systems for the same results.

I took a look for hours trying to find a Federation system on the edge of the bubble with the best results. I found one. It is not close per before the latest update taking a lot longer but a player can get to Real Admiral to purchase a Corvette. Until we find a really great system I won't bother all the way with Admiral.

Exphiay with four local systems.

Synuefe YK-N C23-8
Synuefe YK-N C23-18
Canoupus

In my 2nd PC account I'm Post Captain 50% from Rear Admiral flying an engineered Python. When the RNG hits I can make a 10% advance. When it doesn't maybe 4% per trip around the systems. Several systems including one went Outbreak looking for commodities. Most are found withing 120 LY max. Maybe bring your 700 ton cargo ship to cover the bases with more Federation hits when data deliveries go away.

Interesting that taking on missions with a non-Federation faction often end up delivering them to a Federation faction for the credits.

Canoupus works well but it is a 43k flight to get there. I read a lot of Forum posts while waiting the five minutes. Anyway multiple systems to consider. Let's hope that someone will find a better one and tell us about it. I hope that this helps a few players.

Of course since I mentioned this be wary of those live players wanting to kill you for their entertainment. Fly in Open at your own risk. I'll check out my Mobius group now and then but it can be a parking lot awaiting to dock.

Regards

I hear a chorus of angels. Someone figured out how to do ranking missions the right way! Those fringe systems are just short of miracles. You just have to find a good one to work. Some are better than others. Made all my Federal and Imperial rank in fringe systems in very little time and with very little effort. Stopped at Rear Admiral and Duke because there’s no point in going any higher, there’s nothing to unlock.

Perhaps if access to Federal or Imperial Fleet Carriers is locked behind rank I’ll bother to become a Federation Grand Admiral and Imperial Exhalted King Most High. Other than something like that though, it’s pointless.

I just made Rear Admiral yesterday, i did the last two ranks sothis/ceos in a type 9 running cargo over the weekend.

I just flew between stations at both ends until i was full of cargo, with as many data deliveries as possible as a bonus. I also threw loads of cash at donation missions.

I can’t say it was fun, but it is done now, and i have a corvette, happy days!

By far the fastest way to get fed rank is to go to TZ Arietis and take every data delivery mission which has a rep+++ reward then fly around and do them in a nice fast ship, like a courier. Now that you can't stack them, it is slightly slower going. But once you've got the sol permit, you'r golden, just go and repeat the data deliveries out of galileo until vetted up. The speed of the missions is what makes it so fast. land, take off, land, take off, land take off, repeat until insane, but that's all you gotta do.

That is why I maxed out the Federation, Empire and even the Alliance on my main PC account with billions of credits just in case... :)

Even then it may not be enough without other players with billions of credits wanting to invest. Frontier seems to want us to play together. Still with Multi-Crew instancing dropping out I and others will keep our billions for awhile.

Congratulations! Here is a Link to decide what to do with that shinny new Corvette. There of course are many options given the player and their skills.

Enjoy

Thanks for the heads up. Let's hope this thread has more great suggestions like this one.

Is it faster than mining for a couple of hours and then buying the rank with donation missions in Famine syst....

Oh, never mind.

No shots fired as of yet (apart from a quick test outside the no fire zone, to make sure Holly didnt blow a gasket upon weapon deployment), hope to get on later and blow something(s) to smithereens.
I have to say i am pleased i did the grind, blown away how well the covette handled whilst i was booting about engineering yesterday.

Indeed, it doesn't take very long at all to progress though the ranks, I just wish the top end ships for both the imperials and feds were better. Well done!

Sadly you're talking about a game that no longer exists anymore. Last year sometime frontier stealth increased the range delivery missions can choose from so stacking is effectively dead unless you're outside the bubble. This used to be close to my favourite thing to, fly around the bubble (not just the fringes!) and look for bgs conditions which would let you have a system with perfect stacking. That game is over. Shut down into a homogenised boredom. The only thing it achieves is lack of internet complaints because frontier can go, look, that one mission earns a million.

If you also did this, id dare you to try and again and report back your opinion on how station exploration works now. Its really gone.. with crime and punishment and one update only.. there's nothing left.
