Newcomer / Intro Federation Navy mission in SOL?

Hello,

I have a question, as I am not sure what to do.

I am trying to gain ranks in the federation navy, Currently I am a Midshipman.

I received missions saying "You now have a permit to sol I suggest you make it your top priority to go there and get your promotion." I agreed and warped to sol [after at least 10 jumps jeez]

But I have been jumping from one station to another and I cannot see any federation navy missions? Am I in the wrong place? Not sure what I am suppose to be doing . The flight back to Gawenki is looong! Sigh

The next mission is bugged anyway. It's a Federation black ops... Hunt a target named Maelstrom.... Which does not spawn.

ticket it if you haven't already, maybe if enough of us do it someone who matters may take notice and at least comment on it.

Yeah, it has been ticketed.. But, please.. Ticket it as well.. As said above.. The more tickets going in, the better chance we'll get it fixed.

Just ranked up to petty officer I didn't get Maelstrom (I got Gen. Lee instead) after reading through the forums and seeing the thirty hour timer I resigned myself to a long and fruitless search. Jumped into the indicated system and scooped some fuel, on moving away from the sun (a couple of LS) I noticed a USS and dropped in. I didn't see anything at first, however after a couple seconds a ship appeared, I scanned it (not expecting much) and what do you know? it was the Gen. Lee! I was so surprised/shocked that it took me a minute or two to realise that I was trying to "shoot" him with my D Scanner (and I forgot to k scan him :-( ). When I finally switched to my weapons it took me another couple of mins to realise I had not switched any power pips into the weapons!

He was in a federal dropship me in a cobra so not too difficult, despite my shock/surprise/stupidity I managed to only lose 11% of my hull. I received a measly 400 credit bounty (He shot first) returned to the system I got the mission from (not sol) and received a permit to another system (pretty much the same as the sol one) instructing me to go there and I would be contacted. When I got there the only messages were the same as the one had already picked up including a permit to the system I was already in! (they were available but unobtainable the message stated I couldn't pick it up as i already had one)

With both the sol permit and the next permit I actually picked up the missions in stations which were in completely different systems to the ones mentioned in the permits. Either its not so much a bug but the wording on the permit message. i.e. it indicates you will be contacted in the system the permit is for but actually means "here is a permit as a reward for your efforts and you will be contacted at some future point with further missions" or a very rushed implementation?
