Federation Progression Mission

Recently did two federation progression assassination missions. Both had the listed reward as increasing rank, the first one increased my rank, but the second one did not. Do you typically have to perform multiple of these missions to increase rank or has it just not updated?

No, you need to do one mission to progress one rank.
You happened to have taken multiple missions for the same rank at the same time.

And no you do not need to go to "permitted" systems to progress AFAIK.

Maybe i took the next one right before handing in the old one. If so i messed up lol, but can't completely remember. I remember getting to the station, handing in my completed rank mission, taking the new one and taking a beta hydri permit that the mission i completed got me.

thanks to both of you, and I look forward to getting a Federation Dropship. If only for the bragging rights/role-playing aspect of having it lol.

i think there is a bug where the progression missions keep getting spawned until a little while after you got the rank. so it's quite possible to have 2 or even 3 of the same upgrade missions though only 1 will affect your rank

just got a fed' mission to delivery message in the GERAS system - to Yurchikin port which is 1 million LS away !!!!!!
and i only have 58min to compete the mission !!!

1 million LS is easy in that time. Heck, you could get most of the way to Hutton Orbital in that timeframe!
