Federation Rank Grind

Have all of the fed rank spots like ochosi bee killed off? Is there a new way to get fast rank with fed anymore?

One of the best ways to rank up is bulk cargo missions. You can get HEAPs of rank from them.

Maybe consider not being a rush too, take some time to smell the ..... errr .... asteroids

It's fairly easy to level up around the Sol system - pick the Rep+++ rewards and stack several missions on one run, the Fed Navy missions will pop up quickly.

What rank do you need ?

I just needed to get the permit for a visit home - that was no grind at all, maybe the higher ranks are harder to obtain ?

Each rank is successively harder.

I know I did mine a long time back at TUN, there was a circuit you could do in about an hour. You picked up and dropped off for missions on the route. Once you knew which stations to avoid it was pretty easy. No idea if it's still there, but I could do 3-4 percent of the last level to rear admiral a run. 25 hours or so ?

It made me question a system were they gave out rank for driving a delivery truck. So, like after 1000 delivery missions, they decide that you deserve a real engine of destruction, because dragging boxes all over the quadrant qualifies you for restricted equipment. I guess they totally de-funded their own version of the postal service and delivery truck drivers are heros.. I shudder to think what my local FedEX guy is qualified for.

Not like the Empire is much better. I mean, the Empire just wanted donations, which I can kind of see in a decadent, back stabbing, slave trading, monarchy where the only real crime is defaulting on your debts. If you're rich, you're in.

Robigo>>>Sothis passenger missions have at least one Fed allied faction that will give you good rep and a fair chunk of cash too (also explorer rank which personally I dislike but it's there anyway).

Easiest way is probably to rescue people from a burning station owned by a Fed-aligned faction. Use a ship stuffed with Economy passenger cabins and stack a dozen Rep+++ missions, a very short trip to the rescue ship. Of course, this does require a station to be on fire somewhere.

Otherwise, combine cargo and data deliveries for Federation Unite between Sothis and Ceos.

Ngalinn/Mainani ETA: oops that was Imperial! Canopus - as mentioned below!
Has been a reliable source previously - take a big ship with guns/armour and large cargo carrying... preferably collector limpets as the Elite Anacondas sent to hunt you drop some excellent mats...
(For added irony - do the missions in a Cutter :) )

You'll need either a cutter or T9. I strongly suggest a Cutter though because you'll be getting interdicted by lots of pirates and T9 might not be enough.
This is how I did my Fed rank and I knocked it out in a day.

Here's a 728t cargo Cutter build that I used.

I am saddened by the notion of fast rank acquisition for the mere purpose of access to Federal ships.

Acquiring rank with the Federation is both an honour and a privilege, and should not be hastily undertaken for mere personal gain, but rather for the selfless advancement of the greater good.

Ask not what the Federation can do for you, but what you can do for the Federation.

Forward the Federation!

I had to take a job as a mailman at Sothis-Ceos for a while to convince the navy I should be an admiral. Not sure the navy still promotes mailmen to admirals.

Ceos to Sothis data mission running nets quick Federal rank.
That's how I did it - getting my Cutter (Correction - Corvette!*) was pretty easy from it. The only drawback is some of the stations are pretty far from the Primary, so some flight is involved.
(Hey - they're both big and start with 'C'.)

You can't get imperial rank out there.

You are probably thinking of Wu Guinagi and the HIP system that was close by.

Back in the day I went to Fehu and just handed in millions of credits of Donation missions.
