Federation Ranking Question

So figured it's about time I just get the rank grind done with for Federation right now and knock off the final few ranks I've been avoiding doing for a long, long time.

I'm 1/2 through Lt. Commander and was wondering if each rank gets harder and harder to gain up (like say Combat where going from Deadly to Elite takes a lot longer than going from Expert to Dangerous), or if each rank just scales the exact same and if one was to do the data missions with plus ++ rep, would it just take as many missions to go from Lt. Commander to Post Commander as it does from Post Captain to Rear Admiral?

I got King in the Empire a year ago, but totally forgot how long it took, though I'd only do a few ranks at a time, so can't remember if it was harder to gain ranks the further I went or not.

Reason I'm asking, is I'm planning another long range trip soon and kind of wouldn't mind just getting the Corvette before I take off for months and months, but if it's going to get harder for the next 3 or so ranks, then I might just say screw it and do it another time...

Yes, it gets harder. While at the start one mission could push your ranking by 3-4%, on higher ranks it's like three missions per 1%.
Tbh, I don't think it's worth a focused grind.

So my advice - go explore. When you return, choose a couple of Fed systems and use your exploration data to boost your reputation. You'll be getting much better missions at least and if you want.

Ok thanks for that. I'll just rank up to Post Commander as I'm 1/2 way to it now. It's not like I'm dying to get a Corvette, or even will get one when I hit the mark anyways as I just kind of like to have that option to get one if I want. I did the same with the Cutter, by the time I had the rank, I no longer wanted it, but like just having that in case one day I'm like, I want to take one for a spin...
