Federation Security Bounty Issue

So, I make my living in Elite by bounty hunting in USS's and nav beacons as a bounty hunter is wont to do. However, the same issue happens every single time when I fight at a nav beacon: I'll help the feds fight the wanted criminal and as soon I get the reward, the feds turn on me for no reason. I haven't hit them, I have no bounty, they just start lining up the attack run and firing missiles. This has happened countless times now and it's becoming a real annoyance. Has anyone else had this happen?

If the other ships are friendly with the WANTED ship, even if it's wanted they'll attack you if you kill it since you just murdered their misguided friend. Check that first to make sure friends aren't in the area or make the kill and get outta Dodge fast.

It's become reflex now to just engage SC as soon as the combat encounter is over. I'm about to start killing some feds, though.
