Whats your thought on the upcoming fedral assault ship?
Haven't seen this, anyone got a link? Also, what size is the ship supposed to be, is it like a fighter, or maybe asp or even FDS sized?
does anybody know what rank we need for the dropship mk2 ?

I hope the rank isn't too tough, as I'm not one to suck up to any power. But to be honest, I'm getting pretty bored flying a Vulture, and the FDL is just a big non-starter for me ($50+ million for something I can almost go toe to toe with in my Vulture). I sure hope this thing is the answer I was hoping the DBE was going to be, although I have found a love for it as well (exploring).
Isn't the gunship confirmed to have 2 small, 4 medium and 1 large? That's what I'd heard, and what I based the above breakdown on.
yea the FdL really needs a little buff... except that, i have the same hopes for the dropship mk2, i need a heavy fighter who is not to slow (400 boost), not a brick (a little more agility than FdL), have a good shield (400 Mj) and have a decent jump (17 Ly minimum full A), and a little cargo on the side
something like 70% fighter 30% multi-purpose
We already have a heavy fighter in the Vulture, and anything bigger like the FDL ceases to be a Fighter as it's too big.
That doesn't make sense, the FDL is a fighter, it's just badly designed (and is actually barely any larger than the Vulture in terms of hull mass which is why it has to sacrifice so much for its silly huge hardpoint). There's tons of room above the Vulture / FDL for a larger ship with combat focus - and it could well be a "semi multirole" ship like the Courier or DBS but on a larger scale. I think a lot of people would love to see something along the lines of a Python, sacrificing some of the internals for agility, speed and/or greater shield strength. There's no need for a stark delineation between fighter ships with virtually no internals and tiny power plants and the insane do everything multirole Python and Anaconda types, it just happens that the few larger ships that we currently have fall into the latter category.
