Feedback for South America

Since I am not sure if the team reads the comments in steam to its fullest, I thought to leave my feedback here, in the Feedback forum :D

First of all, great work on the DLC from what I've seen so far, I like the new animals, and they look great, like all the other animals too, and Patch 1.2 has some very important fixes...

Now to my personal negatives:
9,99 for 5 animals?
Sure, we got loads to build with, but this is Planet ZOO, not Planet Coaster, and I cant be the only one who wants more animals in a DLC for that amount of money, especially from such a big and variable continent...
Also.. where are the scenarios?
Arctic did cost the same but at least it did deliver scenarios as well..

Are we going to get more scenarios in the future again?

So yeah...
Thats my 2 negative points.. more animals from such diverse locations would be nice, and more scenarios as well :)

Thanks Frontier
Cya ;)

I can agree with this, 5 animals (one I won't consider an animal for obvious reasons as it's just a 'animal' u put in a small enclosure and never need to worry about much past that.

But where is the Anaconda? Capybara? Caimans??? Coatimundi? Spectacled Bears? Sloths for crying out loud. These animals are iconic. Also you keep adding big carnivores but what about the little ones? People wanted Arctic Fox, no dice, where's red maned wolves? Ocelots?

I really hope these are planned for the game cause only having big cats in the game when there is just as or more so endangered small cats? And some of these animals have very unique behaviors. Maned Wolves for example. A solitary canid.

I disagree. I think for the price of the DLC we actually got an equal amount of content. The 5 animals themselves are richly detailed with pretty good behavior by the bar Planet Zoo has set. Remember, you can't compare a much newer game to an older game. When they implement something in this game, there's a lot more going on.

I will say they probably aren't finished with South America, I'm sure they will revisit in the future with more stuff.

I agree that this pack is well worth the price. I'd prefer to pay $30 for a full "expansion pack" with 20 or so animals and 2 new themes -- I think that would strike a better balance between build sets and animals for me, and I'd gladly pay the price.

Eta: I realize that this business model is pretty much gone, now. I do miss it, though.

I agree. I have no interest in calculating exactly how many cents are being charged for each scenery piece. I don't understand why people do this honestly. However, it's harder to enjoy the new animals without a South American themed scenario to introduce them. I enjoy scenarios a lot and would encourage the team to include them with future content packs.

I’d love more animals, I have to be honest animals are my priority and I’d always like more. But as I have said elsewhere I think it’s really good value especially if you compare it with what else you can get for the same amount.

The price is fine for what we get in my opinion, but I absolutely agree that I want more in the way of animal variety! I'd love to see animal packs of 10+ habitat animals and a few exhibit species and then separate packs with all the scenery. I'd be willing to pay more and wait longer for this!

The last DLC just felt like such a missed opportunity. Sure everyone loves Jaguars, but they're also in every darn zoo/animal tycoon style game. I was hoping we'd see some of the lesser explored but just as loved critters like the ocelot, capyburra, sloths, tamarins, coati, jaguarundi, rhea , paca, salamanders, armidillos, shrews, porcupines, chinchillas, giant otters, sea lions, kinkajou, Maned wolf, foxes, brockets, I could go on and on. And this doesn't include flying or aquatic creatures either.

I really really hope there is a lot more planned. And I do mean a lot more. Lets see the exhibit mechanics adjusted to suit small flying critters like bats and birds, and even adjusted for small aquatic animals like pirannah. Though I'd adore a full aquatic expansion with Dolphins, giant catfish, sting rays and a aviary expansion for our larger flying critters like toucans, condors and other such things, I can understand the extra work that would take on mechanics level and would be seriously over the moon if exhibits had a recoloured "aquarium" or "aviary"option.

Here are some FYI points because this subject just won't stop coming up:

- Frontier can't press a magic button to produce animals, stop asking them to add more animals while expecting the same timeframe of DLC release.
- They can't make bigger, more spaced out expansion packs because that is not an economic model that works anymore.
- The price is perfectly reasonable and in-line with other gaming companies.
- We don't know how long they have been working on DLC for. Both DLC packs could have been in the works prior to the launch of the base game. We have no idea.
