D) Combat becomes boring far to fast. This is due to unbalanced weapons. When is the last time you have seen someone use a flak cannon ( yes i know thats not its name, but its such a terrible weapon that I forgot its name.).Currently it looks like this. For PvE strap on some pulse/beam lasers and have at it. For pvp throw on some rail guns and fixed lasers, add multicannons for flavor. Missles? Lol. Torp's? Right......

My courier. I take this thing on assassination missions, where I usually find myself up against a python with two vulture escorts. I use maybe two cells per fight, depending on how hard I try. I'd like to point out that a single medium frag cannon will bring down a shieldless cobra in less than one second. Also, I believe it takes 19? Maybe 20 seconds to bring down an elite anaconda from full shield to destroyed with a frag fitted asp.
.
Also do not forget that you can turn gimbaled weapons into fixed ones by untargeting your opponent. It seems like you did not have very good opponents when you claimed that you could not die to anyone running more than 50% gimbals.
.
These aspects I disagree with. I for the most part can agree with everything else.

Obligatory the weapons aren't unbalanced reply (except missiles, those trashy trash need fixing)

When was the last time i saw someone running frags? The last time I met a competent player.

Ive played with alot of players, and have yet to see any of them run "frags". Ive tried them myself. Even if they do good damage , which I admit they can do some on a naked hull at point blank range, the fact that the ammo count is so low is why people dont run them. Yes they are near rail gun levels ammo wise but railguns are nearly OP even with that low of a ammo count...and thats why you see TONS of people running RC's.

Now im not Galactus, or Thanos, or even some dime shop fortune teller. So I dont know how many folks are actually running fragmentation cannons. But from what ive seen I would safely bet the majority dont like them. Either way (not sarcastic either) im glad you feel its a balanced weapon, I just cant get behind that.

I cannot vouch for the skill level of people I have fought. Im sure some were bad and some were good and some were drunk. I can say I have gimbal locked many players. Not as many people know about the fixed/gimbal trick as you think. I didnt know til tonight.

I am not a expert pvp person. I enjoy doing it and id wager im flatly average at the task.

I suppose they could introduce high value npc traders in certain trade routes, but id rather see player traders playing in open. They just need the proper carrot, lets say 30-40% increase in profits from trading in open.

That is a really really good idea. I do open and solo depending on if I am trading in a wing. But if they say well you will get 30% more profit for trading in Open then I will be in open all the time.

No, I have never played this game. And thats about the level of discourse we are going to have, cheers tho:)

Sorry, but if your issue with space is that it isn't a theme park ride of sci-fi set pieces that's fine. But you need to state clearly what you mean rather than pointing out that the game doesn't have features it already has.

What you mean is it should have unique movie like set pieces for you to go to. Rather than have to go to a nebula positioned roughly where we think it is in the real galaxy you want to jump immediately into one full of lightning and pirate bases and massive planets positioned closely to the player spinning quickly and banana for scale.

I think that might be what you mean?

the majority don't like the ammo limit, same as rails. To be completely honest frags and rails are basically the 2 best weapons in the game, if you removed the ammo limit off them entirely you'd see them on every ship all the time.

As it is currently, they get used for assassinations and serious pvp - if you fly say a python, a vast majority of players can be defeated just using 3 regular weapons. You save the big guns for when they are needed (or to finish when they try to run!)

You'd have a better time saying that the weapons outside of frags/rails/cannons/MC/burst/beam/pulse were unbalanced, as that would be true - mines are bad, missiles are bad.

No ZeeWolf. What I meant is Im not going to waste time with a snarky poster. No offense, just dont have the drive to do it anymore.

You can catch people in a Python? I need to figure out how to do that. And as for the fragmentation cannon issue, its a small part of the overall post that a few people are caught up in trying to show me the alternate viewpoint of said weapon. I myself have never had success with them over other loadouts and ive never had them used to great affect on me in pvp. But at the moment Im seeing most of the thread derailing on this issue. So ill amend my statement and leave frag cannons out of it to keep the thread on course. Id love to open another thread about the issue where people can post ideas and vids of the successful use of them.

Wasn't trying to be snarky (especially). I do think there is a perfectly valid argument for more set pieces in the game. Was just trying to draw out what the specific criticism you had was.

Apologies if I was rude.
