Feedback on Update 6

Just a few things I noticed and some changes I'd like to see...

The Sandstone Walls show option to recolor, but it does nothing.

It would be nice to get the generic counter versions of the Modular Gift Shop Counter and Photo Counter to match the others in the game. It's easier to create custom shop counters for our gift shops. Also, I'm not a fan of having the Planet Coaster Logo plastered all over the counter and gift shop shelves. It kind of spoils any type of theme we are creating within our parks. If I was making a Disney park, the Planet Coaster Logo just spoils the theme.

Where did these items come from? They are grouped under the Fairy Tale theme, but they aren't in the original Planet Coaster game. Are these new, or were they included in the base game and I never noticed them before?

i noticed those pieces too! they def are new because i dont remember any of them being in the original game :D i loved that surprise and this will be so handy for clutter in dark ride scenes!!

I feel like they have been sneaking in a few extras with the returning themes in these updates. I noticed a couple of new sci-fi themed signs that weren't in the first PC. It's been a nice little addition here and there with some new items for the different themes brought back. :)

Just a small addition but i feel it is important: there is a wording issue: it should be modular gift shop counter and not till.

especially most users use the search function, so consistent naming is really important.

After hyping being able to recolor nearly everything, I'm a little bummed that the redcoats aren't recolorable. I know they are redcoats, but having any other color jacket would make them another "team", wouldn't it? Like blue for Yanks? Lots pf other examples, but you get the idea.

Also have to say I am generally disappointed with these original themes in general. Not a single new piece of wall or scenery anywhere, (Shy, you did find a couple of knick knacks!), but absolutely no new pieces at all. Those big clunky animatronic boxes still stuck to the characters, no new animatronic characters, etc.

I get that that they added pools, created a new path system, utilized a new engine, but then all they did was import the old stuff and didn't even attempt to create anything new, fix or alter anything, or to flesh out the old sets with badly needed pieces of wall or roof. Cut rate game creation. It's really a shame. Then they are scratching their heads wondering why sales have not been where they want them to be.

this is not entirely Frontier's fault, though they are the bigger side here, but having back old stuff was the backlash and they kind of listened to the community. i dont know the exact number but i guess we got around over 1000 - 1500 assets in the last 3-4 months. There is simply no time to develop something new and shiny, not even to flesh out anything. We got returning rides, we got some new features, and many old themes, i simply dont see the time for 'new' and 'creative' assets.

I don't think anyone was expecting any new items in the returning themes. Well, you maybe. ;)

...continued from last post. Apparently you can't add text after inserting a smilie. (wanted to add a frowning face, but I don't want a 3 part post)
The early themes weren't the greatest, as they featured very few colorable pieces along with grossly over-sized assets. I'm happy they at least added scaling to most of these items, as many that were unusable before are now much more versatile. So we actually did get enhancements to the original themes.

On Discord someone mentioned these were apparently in the console version of Planco 1
I noticed the Firefly Jars in YouTube Videos of Console Parks way back when. So I second they were added to Console and now here.

The half-walls are additions as well.

I read on Discord that the On-Ride Photos only work on coasters. Can anyone confirm this?
On the update 6 advertisement, is says "Add a photo kiosk to sell pictures of your guests on the rides, as you can now place a ride camera on attractions to capture the best reactions!" This would be false advertising if it only applies to coasters.

I've not seen it available for anything else presently. I'm going to test out log flumes next

Yes, i think they mentioned it also on stream.

They need to add it to the Log Flumes at least. All attractions would be really nice, except maybe flatrides. I would expect they'll do this in future updates.

i tried to find it on stream, but i really must have dreamt it, but i was not suprised, that it only works on coaster, because i felt there was somewhere the info and i am paraphrasing: "it will work on coaster at first and later we revisit on flat rides

I just can't imagine that it would have been that hard to make the older models re-colorable, and to at least get rid of those stupid animatronic boxes the early assets came with.
As for new stuff, not even a couple of new barrels or streetlamps or something? I stand by my original statement. Cut rate game creation.

We'll see what the new DLC's come with. My guess is they will just be reproducing the old old sets piece for piece.

Sorry, but this is definitely Frontiers fault. When PC1 was released, many, many people complained about missing wall and roof pieces, or at least a standardization of set pieces. Frontier never addressed those missing pieces then, and they haven't really addressed it now. I understand that we got a lot of assets in the first few months of release, but they have made no attempt at all to plus or polish what they have released. Granted, all these updates have been free, but I'm fairly confident that the paid stuff coming soon is just going to be the same assets from PC1 dressed up in a shiny new box. I would really like to be proven wrong, but I don't think I will be.

I think its somehow funny how some of us have been complaining anout this exact issue: lack of clear direction/standardization. We got called out for being to negative and for repeating the same points. 3-4 months later here we are with more and more people realising that this is an aspect where the devs clewrly are having issues.
And tbh i dont even know what there is left for us to do. I guess the „listening to our community“ part was only related mostly to feedback of casual players on youtube comments and such. We have seen one single dev post in the last months… is anybody even reading our stuff here and passing it on to the team? Is that feedback even being looked into?
I dont think frontier will come back to change any significant things added trough updates…
I feel like in some years time we are gonna end up with a game thats feels wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle, sprinkled with many kinks and quirks and a lot of missing QOL…

Funny because the big m watercoaster, the big boat one, does have the cameras added to it. So again, a clear lack of standardisation… i wouldnt be surprised if we sometime get new coasters added and they forget to add the camera feature to those
