[Feedback] What's wrong with Colonia CG?

ZNuDP4Vl.jpg

On May 18 we saw the beginning of a new CG in the Colonia. It is the most common CG, which are often found in the Bubble, just bounty hunting and no purpose in this. So, I have a question - FDev, do you think we need something like that? No, seriously, there is some purpose or will it help to develop the Colonia or the plot in it? Or maybe you think that someone here need the money? No, people come here not for the money, they come here because in the bubble they get bored. They have money, they can buy a 1, 2, 3... 100500 ships, and they have hardpoints to protect themselves.

In this case, what is the point of beginning of this CG? I think you can see that very few people involved in this now. The reason is not that there are few people, but the reason is that it is a little interested here. Maybe you should reconsider your opinion about CG in the Colonia? Just, don't think about us like about second bubble. For me, the Colony is a sort of "high level" content in ED. It must be so, but right now I don't see it.

Personally I love that there is a combat CG here, and I know a few people who are also happy.

My biggest issue is that Colonia still lacks a good selection of higher quality modules to make a good combat ship and I'm still too poor to move anything from the bubble.

Of course not. But what's the point? This is the thing that interests me.
I can kill NPC in the bubble. It does not need to go to the Colonia.

Unauthorised installations are the point. And event for their addition. As well as giving everyone a reminder/update that we have an asteroid base.

Also I'm not returning to the bubble to have this action.

If you were to judge and dismiss every addition by what's available in the bubble we wouldn't have anything.

Look at the previous CG. There was the goal. Here I don't see it.

The goal is described with a big text wall as usual. I'll shorten it for you: keep the criminals operating unauthorised isntallations in check until the security level of Colonia has risen a bit.

Unfortunately, this is not the goal that will give us some development. They tried to give us something to do. But most ignored it.

I understand. What if it does end up increasing security levels though?

Also I am very happy about the new installations. I haven't seen any before. Pretty fun hunting in and around them.
Thus it has given us development already.

Call me an optimist but only a couple of weeks back FDev said that they had no particular plans for any CG in Colonia. But now we have one. I would take this on a good note.

Given the description there might well be a fail effect which does something bad - drops a load of NPC Anarchy factions in, perhaps, or knocks a bunch of systems down to Low security.

Perhaps a victory will increase some system security levels to High? Or increase populations due to the proven security?

Last CG we knew was about services at Colonia Dream - but it also gave us outfitting improvements at three other stations, a new shipyard, and three substantial population increases. So it's perhaps too early to say there's no point beyond the money.

While I could understand if a concern that this is the harbinger of Colonia becoming "Bubble 2.0," that's not your stated issue here. I'll point out that Colonia is currently viewed sort of as you describe - something different. Given that, many people decide "it's not for me" and don't go. If there are more reasons to go, maybe more people will come and grow it. Would that be a bad thing?

God forbid FDev give a minority of people something different to do every now and then....

I'm happy.. You happy. But I can hunt NPC around installations without CG. What is actual aim of that CG? Just for fun? Where is a CG that grows Colony, and brings a little meaning to that place? Simply this place is a entrepot for now.

It was necessary for us? No. Improved security will do us some problems now. The pirates, in many cases, is what allows us to stabilize our systems.
They should fix other problems before improved security level.

I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill here. Lol

It's just a CG. Let the combat pilots up in Colonia have some fun.

Then you can go back to doing whatever it is you guys do you there. :p

Hey, don't you forget: "play your way" only applies if you're a pacifist trader, miner, or puddy cat.

I agree with that. But first and foremost I want development for the Colonia, and do not see it for a very long time.

See how many people are involved in this CG. It clearly says that it is a little interesting here.
