Feedback when ranks increase

Unless I'm missing something, I never know if any of my ranks have increased unless I happen to check. Is there some sound or other feedback that I'm missing? I think a rank increase should be worthy of some kind of notification, maybe a text flash on the HUD and a cool sound effect or music.

Yes I would like to see some notification, I find myself glancing at the status page more than I should.

The game needs an in game email which will let commanders send mails to each other and allow npc factions to send notifications of wars if they are ranked in that faction.
