Feedback: You Screwed Up Bigtime

Reasons why you screwed up:
1. You need scientists for everything which sucks (even in sandbox mode).
2. Almost everything in sandbox mode is still locked.
3. You gotta give dinosaurs a status check every too often (even in sandbox mode).
4. Dinosaurs have excessive needs (even in sandbox mode).
5. Herbivores don't get along with one another.
6. Constant Refueling.

I agree

I actually don't mind number 4 --- more dino enclosure stuff is quite cool. Although it sucks that Camarasaurus and Apatosaurus hate each other now.

The rest are all good points.

Nobody. Absolutely Nobody. Asked for or wanted more micromanagement---refuelling stuff. What next? We need to manually refil vending machines or empty the trash? the worst addition is the new medical system. On JP mode I am just in an endless loop of sending my trikes to hospital.

You have to unlock things in Chaos Mode.
I've forgotten to place ranger stations and the dinosaurs have been fine. It just helps you keep track of them better. The scientists and herbivore behavior makes it a better game, but I agree I'd be nice to be able to switch the scientists off in sandbox. The problem is scientists are needed to create a Dino in the base game so they might not be able to turn that off.

I haven't got to sandbox yet. Are the maps really that small?

Yes some of the maps are quite small. Most notably the JP Chaos Theory Nublar map and the JP3 Isla Sorna Site B map. The maps look great. They are just too small. None of the maps are as big as people hoped or were led to believe.

You can see all the maps in this video by BestInSlot.

I am currently playing the JP Chaos Theory scenario and I can see the map for myself now and it is small. Though I think Frontier considers it a large map. It's clearly not. It's more like a medium or something if even that. The JW Chaos Theory map looks slightly larger than Nublar 93 from the JWE RTJP DLC. JW got a better map it seems. None of the maps in the game are really big.

I saw a post over on the subreddit that said mods can easily be ported over to JWE2. There was a mod that got rid of the map boundaries so hopefully that mod can be ported over to JWE2 easily. Cause it looks like it will needed.

My system specs are in my signature below and even with my hardware while playing I am seeing frame rate drops and this game makes my GPU get a bit noisy. This is at 1080p with all settings as high as they can go. Not 1440p or 4K, Just 1080p. So I can imagine what this game is doing to consoles with their obsolete APU's.

I am guessing with the new dynamic AI and animations we got stuck with small maps again because of consoles. All that AI and dynamic animation will put eat up a lot of CPU processing power. Consoles use APU's. They don't have discrete GPU's like a desktop. That means the CPU handles the physics, AI and graphics in consoles. I have already seen people with Xbox Series X consoles saying they are experiencing performance issues.

But like I said even my with my hardware I am seeing a drop in frame rate. This game needs some more optimization work I imagine or maybe the engine does. It's not a big deal cause it's not a game that requires a high smooth frame rate, but being able to keep a steady frame rate it nice, at least 60 fps. I have seen my frame rate go below 60. I am not sure how far but I have felt it and seen it. I know when my frame rate goes too far below 60. 55 isn't too noticeable. But when you get below that you can see it and feel it in the gameplay.

It's especially annoying because dinosaurs need double the enclosure size this time (I do like the new dinosaur requirements) but if the dinos need twice the space, we should get bigger maps. There is zero reason to have them so small and limited.
