Feeling disappointed today

Struggling with the whole fine system here. Stopped off at a USS earlier and was attacked by a wanted character, took care of him with the feds buzzing around, someone else attacked me at the same time so tried to target them them but realised I had hit a fed ship and picked up a 300cr fine. Jumped out quickly as I had done before and headed to a station to pay the fine. Docking accepted, entered the space station and then the words Criminal appear...already inside the station in my ASP, couldn't do anything but watch me get blown up, 112 cargo of Beryllium at 750,000 credits gone, ship re-buy costs at 500,000cr and still have a 300cr fine and then another fine for 79,000cr from Federation for well I am not sure....
Not saying its rubbish, just to be honest seems a lot to lose for what was there fault for moving infront of a firing ship from someone who was attacked. it still takes me a while to build up 1.5 million credits in the game so pretty narked off that this action doesn't seem to fit the crime...not as though I think there was a crime as such.

I love playing the game...just this does it no justice and serves no purpose to other than to make me not want to play it which surely is what is wanted...

anyways..rant over

other than..got a job from the bulletin board to kill Pirates in an Anarchy Zone..spent nearly two hours finding cargo...my cargo hold was full..waste of time..sold cargo went back...all the great cargo was suddenly biowaste..wasted more time, finally found the pirates..seems like a long haul and some of the game metrics could do with a little help as they quite often seem to based as the opposite of what you want / need. I don't want it easy...just want it fairer in what you are doing.

You had a ship with 112 tons of cargo in it then you think it's a good idea for a bit of pew-pew?

Your problem is probably not the 300cr fine you picked up, but the outstanding 79,000cr one that started as a fine, but turned into a bounty at some point, possibly.

was picking up fuel and stopped off.. the fine wasn't there before this...am very careful and a good citizen. the 79k fine was there after they blew the crap out of me so maybe a cleanup fine for leaving my cargo loose in the space station after they blew me to hell.
Guess the point is..if I stop at a USS and get blown up and lose cargo...fine, if I am attacked by a wanted person, and the feds move in-front when I am firing, am happy to pay 300cr fine..but letting me into the docking area of a space station and then blowing me to bits for a 300 cr fine a is unfair as you are trapped in there and b its a minor crime if any at all and not exactly worthy of costing someone 1.5 million.

Just the logic somewhere is pretty bad that this can happen

when you got a fine or wanted status, go dock on an outpost

You dont have to dock at an outpost if its just a fine or wanted. The stations will only fire on you if it has become a bounty. If you are wanted you can go to a station and pay if off but if you leave it too long (24 hrs I think) it becomes a bounty then you need to use outposts.

Never pay off your wanted status in the station of the faction that is assigned that bounty. It's basic, isn't it? You can pay your fines on any station. Outpost are pretty safe and the stations that are controlled by other parties, not the rulling ones.

thanks but the point being made is that on the basis that all crimes are equal that your slightly rude response 'It's basic, isn't it?' would land you being prisoned for the rest of your life....in the case of this, what I a guess I am badly trying to say is that the choice between good and bad is fairly straightforward but the system obviously recognises the difference of some type of infractions and being given 300cr fine would suggest that this being minor doesn't require the system to blow the hell out of you..what next..you scuff the paint work of the entrance on your way out so lets blow them up as well. As basic as you feel it is, this was a 300cr fine, I was attacked by someone wanted, hence the 12k bounty I never got to claim as I was blown up. Just asking whether the concept of one action for all crimes and fines is right.
