Newcomer / Intro Fehu silver ring reputation.............

Well ive finally arrived at Fehu. Once here I realised that to obtain the missions, I needed Merchant trade rank. Now I have obtained this it now says my reputation with Fehu silver ring needs to be above neutral. How exactly do i do this? Has anybody else has experience with gaining rep with Silver ring before? Any help would be gratefully received ;) i am fed up of getting paid peanuts now and this is my big break!

Do missions for them. Or hand in bounty vouchers, exploration data and sell commodities to stations they control.

If they don't control any stations I think you can target any ships in system that are not theirs to gain rep.

Sadly their missions require their rep in order to be available. I will try what you have suggested. Thank you

If you can find out/work out/guess who their main rivals/opponents are handing in bounties on those would help, of course you should not shoot at any of their ships no matter how much bounty they have.

How can i know for sure which ships have bounties on them from the faction i am trying to gain a better reputation with? I use a kws but it just says WANTED for that highlighted ship and states what faction they are from, not who issued the bounty on them. Any help clarifying this would be gratefully received

Target lock the ship and then when all the details have appeared look in your left hand panel in the contacts tab all sorts of information is displayed there, including I believe the value of the bounty. Not sure about issuing faction.

the bounty doesn't increase that reputation! I reclaim about 300k with fehu organisation and nothing. there is a way to increase this rep? T.T

In your case I believe that trading goods into that station has an effect on your rep with them. Start looking at the missions you cannot get but which they are offering. If those missions want a certain commodity and you can get it, you may not have the mission but you can, IIRC, increase your rep by simply selling the goods at that station.
I would like someone to back me up on this one as am going from memory - I seem to have always done my rep increases by taking their missions, if you cannot get any of them however.......and I am correct in the above, this may work.
One final point. Go to neighbouring systems. I have found that the factions there may offer missions to your system and that by doing them, you not only increase rep in the mission system but also the system you want to rep up in......

Thank you. I am still trying to improve this. I will try out selling some goods to the station.

Sadly I cant see this working as all they offer is high paid smuggling missions which are unobtainable due to my rep. The clue in the quote from Silver Ring is, "There are no missions available at the moment, but even though we dont control the local market you can help us by collecting bounties that have been issued by us. Its not something we generally talk about openly, but in your case you should know that you can reduce our rivals influence by destroying their ships." The task im in the middle of is finding out who their enemies are and knowing which bounties Silver Ring have issued. I feel like giving up as its hard as ****. They appear to fire on Independant Fehu Liberals but they dont have bounties and are not wanted. I have learned the hard way and became wanted myself. I now have a maxed out loan and only 1000 credits to my name. I may move on as this is just so much more difficult than i first thought.

I think you guys are just being unlucky. To have ALL the missions locked behind the rep is rare. There usually are at least one or two that can be done even on neutral rep.
Do they only have one station? If they have more, you could try to run around and try your luck everywhere.

Do Fehu silver ring control any stations, outposts or planet bases? If they do, then anything you do that makes a profit at one of these stations will improve your reputation with them. If they don't control any assets, you are stuck with having to complete missions. Missions may not be frequent, but they should appear occasionally, so you may just need to be patient.
It can be frustrating trying to get past neutral with a faction, but the mission board refreshes every ten minutes, so you could try just waiting in the station and reopening the board to check. Otherwise, visit each of the stations in the system.

Just be careful with the "do anything" stuff.
If they do own a station and you are trading goods into that station, it DOES give you rep with them, but it also DECREASES their influence in the system. So you could accidentally screw them over, if you trade too much. On the other hand, if you get them close to another faction, you could start a war, which means they would start giving the CZ missions. Those are awesome rep-gainers.

That's smuggling, not trading. Selling illegal or stolen goods at a blackmarket does increase your reputation while lowering the faction's influence. But trade (profitable anyway) increases both your reputation and the controlling faction's influence.
Legal and Illegal trade also has other effects on a system. See the first post of A Guide to Minor Factions and the Background Sim.

Im there now and the situation is bizarre:

* Silver Ring ONLY give out smuggling missions that require a cordial rep.
* The other factions ONLY give out donation missions.
* Silver Ring control NO stations or outposts.
* As far as I can tell, they also control no ships and hand out no bounties.
* ALL factions are in what seems like a perpetual boom state.

Someone has either VERY cleverly gamed the system, or the BGS is showing us just how ridiculously unrealistic it can be. Or both. As far as I can tell, the Fehu system is completely useless.

In Maia I had exactly the same problem fortunately I could trade directly between Obsidian Orbital and Darnielle's Progress and I can vouch that trading between the 2 did improve my rep. with the station owners.

I had this problem a few weeks ago in a different system, my advice is to move on you can spend ages trying to influence them and not get anywhere. I think what happens is these factions occasionally control a station but get deposed either intentionally by players or the BGS. What you need to do is time your visit and get the rep gain quick, now you know how this faction operates you know what to look out for...

Faction control doesn't happen like the weather. the BGS works entirely by player actions. Everything you do in a system has a small effect on the BGS.
It takes a concerted and often lengthy effort by several players to change the ownership of statinos and systems, particularly in busy systems. The BGS tends to work against anarchy factions, as bountyhunting works against them but not for them.
If this anarchy faction never gives missions to CMDRs with less than cordial reputation, it is likely that this faction will never regain control of the system. However, a concerted effort by a group of players who are already allied to this faction could make a difference.
