Fell in love again with the DBX after trying it with the CV1 and my room

Yeah, I recently optimised my room so the sensor can see it all, and the CV1 cable is free and easy, and since then I've been getting up a lot and walking round my cockpits. My room is pretty small, less than 3m by 1m (and that 3m is all to the right of me) after clutter, so I've been having trouble with the bigger cockpits, as I can't walk all the way to the window(s). The smaller ones usually have pretty poor viewing area...

Until I tried the DBX. I used to hate the cockpit, it felt too utilitarian and ugly. Felt like it was the fork-lift-truck of space. But it's the perfect fit for my room, it has AMAZING windows that let you look down, and it actually does have character when you can bond with it with the CV1 resolution and mobility, and feel its scale properly. I think it's now going to be my ship of choice, despite its drawbacks...

Try this: Get a DBX, head to an engineer base like the one at Wyrd, park about 1.5km above it and then walk to your window and look down. If ever you want to feel the scale of Elite, that will nail it into your brain better than anything I've tried so far.

Yeah, the first time I loaded up Elite in the Vive and found myself IN the bridge of my Anaconda was definitely a 'WOW' moment. my wife and I both took turns exploring the bridges of a few ships I have, including the DBX. The ASP is another one, do the incursion tutorial mission if you are curious, its glass from floor to ceiling :)

One thing my wife does from time to time is play passenger. she wears the Vive and looks out the windows while I pilot the ship. Its fun to see her duck as I fly through the mailslot or have her looking out one of the side windows at a nearby sun or planet :D (I can almost fly with my eyes closed so it doesn't bother me to have my view going everywhere while she wears the Vive :) )

I can't play Elite with a monitor anymore :)

Hehe I have an asp, but surprised it is available in a tutorial. Awesome. Asp is too big for my room though, the dbx is perfect.

One of the first things I did was get the Sol permit so I could fly my wife to the moon. The future is awesome
