Fellow Empire players which power are you choosing?

I personally am going with Zemina Torval due to all her benefits to trading, mining, and for her staunch stance against unemployment.

As an someone deeply concerned with economics i am all about stopping the, ahem unemployment.

What about everyone else any other Torval supporters here? If not which empire leader are you going for?

Guys there's a simple choice here... come over to the Federation! come back to Earth come back to the oldest and best galactic power and faction.

I think I'm gonna go with Arissa. Torval has the wrong stance on slavery as has Aisling (but in the opposite direction) and Patreus is just a . :D
I'm still hoping for a Senator Loren power in the future though.

It sounds as if players in the future will be able to both destroy and create new Powers, i think if i heard right, the initial selection of factions will rise to a maximum of twenty as players provide assistance to minor forces who then become factions.

None of them.

As Varrwen Mako Brennus declared recently: "I'm a very straight forward man and I generally say simple things because it's the way I was brought up serving the Empire. All of you act and talk like there was some specific difference between you, that you somehow represent your own factional influence. You have no Right to adopt such an attitude. You are making the very same mistake that self-serving politicians make, who then turn from mere talk to acts of aggression against their opponents. You are better than that. We are better than that. There are grave threats facing the Empire and as you know, I have the confidence of the Emperor. I know the great perils our Empire shall soon face and we as loyal Citizens of the Empire, Basking in His Greatness, must be ready to stand firm against all adversity in His name. I have been serving by the Emperors side for a long time and I have seen and heard things that would make you cry like little children. The Federation is unstable and is becoming more militaristic every day with even basic freedoms that here in the Empire, we take for granted, denied to billions of Federation citizens. The Alliance consolidates its power and soon it may be a threat to us all. There is evidence that has not been revealed to public scrutiny concerning unidentified non-human technology and craft appearing in civilised space. I would not be surprised if we encounter Thargoids here in our lifetime. Imperial Senators are running amok, drunk with power. They are dividing the Empire into small, easy to swallow bits without any consideration on how this impacts the Empire. This needs to end. The Empire will be strong and unified once again and its up to us, Emperors Grace, to make it happen. Everyone else cares only about their profits or territory. We will make a start here and now."

I'm leaning towards Zemina Torval because of her Mastopolos Mining connection, I also like the idea of covert missions.
Since launch I've been a strong Federation supporter so I'll have to come up with some defection rp/strategy.

I'd go with Aisling Duval.

For the simple reason that the Empire is supposed to be all-good. It's grand, it's epic, and beautiful.
Better in every single way than the Alliance or the Federation that malfunction on all aspects of society.

Except for one thing. The slavery.
It was an invention of Henson Duval, who declared himself Emperor after the suspicious death of Marlin Duval, who colonized the Achenar system.

Slavery is an unneccesary part of the imperial culture, and and can be changed to be replaced with something else, while retaining everything else that makes the Empire great.

Slavery is a blight on The Empire, I agree. And will also support any Imperial power that pledges to do away with that loathesome institution and replace it with contract/wage shackles instead of loss of freedom. We are better than that, or should be. Even though I am a noble of The Empire, I have only ever carried slaves that I've rescued from pirates or purchased to free; my ships will never stink of owned flesh.

I'm basking so hard right now.

Milord, don't strain yourself!

I serve the Empire - but struggle to see myself aligned with one of the powers within. The internal struggle makes us weak in light of the uncertain times ahead. Rather than bickering like children we should look to unite and support one another. Until I see such unity I'll stay a free agent.

+1

We support the whole, not the parts....
