I think the lady is meaning in the official merchandise store, not in game!
The t-shirts are all men's and there doesn't seem to be any female sizes there. Remember, female t-shirts are a different shape to the men's ones!
considering the replies to this thread so far i think the OP needs to clarify just what she considers merchandise for women to be.

T'shirts shaped to female figures and in more feminine colours would be nice, although yes male T's are pretty comfortable but for the slimmer figure not too flattering.
Perhaps mugs with male and female slants could be introduced and key rings with feminine design. I am sure ED artists could come up with some decent designs.
One thing I don't see in games shops are Jeans. Would like to see male and female styled jeans with Elite logo on them like the Levi badge on the rear.

I believe the last survey of online gamers put the figure at 48% female. I would have to look it up to be sure though.
Perhaps we should also need to see how many men players we have while we are at it, yes?

I never buy a pair of jeans without trying them on first. I'm a cyclist and find that a lot of jeans don't fit due to years of racing. Even loose fit ones nowadays
