Fer de Lance speed

I recently got an FDL and it currently has a mass of 413.4T and with an A4 thruster it will boost to 406 and has a max 4 pips speed of 302.

It was 435.4T and boosted to 403 and max normal speed of 299.

I was going to see how fast it will go by making it lighter, and hopefully its maneuverability would improve, but the figures don't seem to change much with a mass change.

Now I'm not sure its worth the trouble to track down parts to see, anyone else who has an FDL want to share their mass and speed?

Your numbers are quite right, as a rule of thumb an FDL is as fast as a Viper, boost and non-boost.

I am sitting at 408.6 atm. Normal flight speed (with max pips) is 302, boosted is 406 peak. According to your numbers I can safely add another 5 tons and be okay. Gonna try it.

414.6, 302, 406. No noticeable difference in maneuverability.
430.6, 300, 404. Maneuverability is hard to tell.
462.6, 296, 398.

I lightened the FDL down to 331.5T.
Got 4 pips speed of 302 and boost to 406, so definitely some sort of lower cap, no reason to lighten this ship that much.
The jump range did improve to 17.47ly.
