Few questions regarding the 5 new ships to be introduced at a “later date”

As a beta backer, one of the “perks” is a "free ship" out of one of the 5 new ships to be introduced at a later date,

1.) Will they all be released at the same time?

2.) Or will we at least have some insight to what they are and when they will be released?

All we know is that apart from the originally planned ships, they will make 5 extra later, from which beta backers will get one (1) free. They never said whether we will get to pick which one, or whether everyone gets the same one out of the lot.

But I have a hunch it is the latter, for otherwise those 5 extra ships would either all need to be about the same cost, or everyone would pick the most expensive one anyway if their prices differ greatly.

I've seen a few people talking about a pick of the 5 new ships. I'm sure when I read this it said there would be 5 new ships coming and we would get one of them. Nothing about being given a choice as to which one we'd get. Otherwise we're going to end up being offered 5 ships that for balance reasons all have to be basic low end ships, and I can't help feeling there's enough of those I game already.

We don't know anything about the ships. Apart from what said in the second post.

I , just like the second post have a few hunches, one they will be story related possible to a new Thargoids invasion by making one of the vessels available to mercenary players they are allowing some players to take the fight to the Thargoid while everyone else grind to the new ships, two they will be highly specialized vessels aimed at one of the roles you can play in the game. I suspect the choice of which vessel we get may relate to our ranks.

We know nothing, and will continue to know nothing until they're dropped on us and we're all disappointed to find it's 5 totally useless flavor ships nobody would choose to fly.

This is what FD's under-fulfillment of promises and lack of communication have sown. I have roughly the same faith in them as in my government, and expect the same level of treatment.

it is not ''a free ship'' we have entitlement too, but ''free access to one of the 5 new ships'', which means that if you are a Fed and you wish to have the new Imperial ship you may have access to it without going through all the faction leveling and vice-versa if you are a Baron and the Feds hate you but you want the new Fed ship out of the 5, that is if there is to even be a Fed and Imperial ship amongst them...P.S....so you...me...whatever one we choose we will still have to buy them with hard earned credits.....no free ships here lads.

I'm anxious to know this as well. Sadly the devs have never responded to any of these questions, which makes me nervous since that was something I was very excited about.
