Elite / Frontier FFE Mission Help

Either that or there are so many ships defending the place that FPS drops to unplayable level.

If you not done this already and assuming you are running it in Vista turn the detail to low and turn off the sound and space dust for this mission you should get few more frames out of it.

Hello Commanders, it's my first words here.

How I did this mission last Saturday, after lots of savegame reloads and forum reading trying to dig mission information and hints:

My Ship: Osprey X (named "The Universe's Photographer" because my preference to do classified missions...). Its regular equipment is a Military Class 2 Driver, 1 shield unit, 5 MW pulse laser, auto pilot, navigation computer, jammer and cameras. No atmospheric shielding (it's a bug, i can fly low and land on planets without it most of the time). No radar mapper and scanner.

To this mission I configured the Photographer with the following equipment: 2 shields units, 1 MW pulse laser and 4 MV missiles.

I took of Birmingham on 25/Jul with 1 ton of fuel and my escape route traced to Urandol. Accelerated to ~99000 Km/h heading to "a little bit" above the planet horizon where the academy was.

When I was about 2500 Km from the Academy, at an altitude greater than 40000 meters I shoot the retros to slow the speed. I flown over the Academy at a speed ~40000 Km/h, maintaining the high altitude. So I shoot the missiles and touched time control.

With the "done" written at the mission roster, I pressed the hyperspace button without hearing any "ship is under attack".

My strategy was based in the fact that to use time control properly, I could not be under attack. And a high speed pass over would work.

Well it worked to me.

I have the savegame just after read the "done". :)

I hope help someone. I tryed others strategies (low fly, ie) but it did not worked to me.

bye!
