FFE have now been ported to AROS. Hurray!

Is AROS any good? What are the benefits of using it over AmigaOS (Workbench)? How does it relate to AmigaOS4? Does it work on classic Amigas?

Lets revive some old threads..

AROS is really nice now with built in seamless classic emulations and such... Combined with the Icarus Desktop project it's really awesome check it out:

The biggest benefit with AROS is that you can run it on affordable x86 hardware. Unfortunately it hasn't got binary support of old Workbench applications in the same way that AmigaOS4 has. AROS is "only" API compatible and legacy software have to be runned in a emulator or recompiled.

Now days there is a classic port of AROS. It is being used in the Natami project:
