Fighter bay for an ASP - who's in?

I would really like a long jump range ship, with fighters and an SRV...that is not a ££££££Conda! IE a more affordable re-buy, planning on giving the Kielback a go shortly

I understand something else would have to give to fit into the ASP, aslong as its not the FSD I don't mind.

Dont think it will fit.

all i want is shipping my racer eagle with my conda.. but that never gonna happen too im afraid.

Not me. I'd like new ship types so we have more kinds of ships that can take SLF, for sure.

But I do not want the Asp to "have to give to fit" - the Asp imo is one of those very well balanced ships for the roles we wish to use them for. While I can wish for minor this or that improvements, it's a fine ship 'as is' and wouldn't want that ruined/nerfed because of SLF cramming.

Create the 'keelback' of Asps with another variant, or brand new ship that has some Asp-like qualities and ability to use SLF. But anytime FD changes an existing asset, it either gets nerfed to hell or adds significant other consequences no one wanted in order to make the first 'desired' change happen.

Asp isn't big enough in the right places for the fighter bay. The Keelback is only just big enough, but it will make a reasonable explorer+fighter. Mine got a decent lvl 5 FSD mod and jumps 30LY when A-rated and carrying fighter and SRV. I reckon it would be nearer to 34 if I D-rated the usual stuff.

The asp should carry an exploration drone, with advanced planetary scanners that accurately pinpoint POI on radar, and equipped with both infrared and night vision display overlays. It'll be about the size of a harpoon missile and boost up to about 3500.

Also makes one hell of a bang if you pilot it into another ship.

Once again, it's not anything to do with the size or price of the ship. Certain ships have been designed to specifically support a fighter bay. If you want an affordable SLF supported ship, just get a Keelback.

The thing that is bugging me the most about 2.2 is that FD seemingly didn't put any thought into the disparity between the powers in the ships department. Many role players, who want a half reasonable medium ship for SLF's, have currently got no choice but to take the hated Fed ranks and get the Reliant Robin.

Not everyone in this game likes large ships or believes that they are the be all and end all, even though we can afford them.

Michael said, in the live stream, that is was probably possible to get a fighter bay in an Asp, although you wouldn't be able to get much else in it :)

Nah. I've spent more time in my Asp than any other ship, and it's fine the way it is. It doesn't need to do everything. Well, more everything than it already does, anyway.
