Fighter generating Bounty

For real?

Was in a Res with a friend some bounty hunting suddenly I got warning Attacking of someone innocent. Ok i didnt do it so must have been my fighter so I instantly gave the order to come back and wanted to drop out. Well the guy got killed and now I have a bounty without even made a single shoot at him.

The fighter was on defence so I cant even say why he shoot him. Is this a bug or do I really need to fire the f npc and put out fighters out of my ship to avoid another such thing. Its not the first time I got such attacking warning but the first time I really got bounty for murder I even didnt do.

You need to ensure the SLF is set to attack target only and not general attack or defence.

Just that this only is a one time set. I say him everytime when I have a target with bounty, but after its killed he instantly goes back to defence.
And sorry but in defence he should only attack someone who attacked me and that should normally result in this person gaining bounty and appearing red on radar.

Either SLF are really bullty programmed or this is a bug which need to be removed instantly. I mean I cant go back for 5 f days for well doing nothing illegal at all.

sounds allot like..

wingmate gets wanted, they shoot you, SLF gets angry and gives you a bounty.

Nope, I was the one becomming wanted by this. And as soon as I saw the 400 Cr for attack I instantly said he should dock which avoids further actions.
But again somehow the guy got killed and now I am the killer without shooting? Nice feature FD....

That can happen - but I've had my fighter pilot go rogue from time to time as a result of getting hit by cross fire or even being rammed by another ship. Then she'll go after whomever and I wind up having to jump out. A trip to a Low Intensity CZ full of never-miss rail eagles and a few fighter deployments usually cures her bloodlust though, as she tends to get a little mopey after being taken out while deploying a half-dozen times.

Why? That cripples an SLF's effectiveness.

If set to Defense, the fighter will only fire on ships that attack it or your ship. I'm pretty sure it also prioritizes targets that are more of a threat to you than itself.

If set to Aggressive/Engage at Will, the fighter will only fire on ships that are hostile to you. If you haven't broken the law, no hostile ships should be firing on you. Only possible exception would be if you have PowerPlay merits that need to be turned in/PP cargo and it's a hostile agent in their home territory. That would make them both hostile and any fire on them criminal.

The only way for an SLF to truly attack a non-hostile target is to have that target selected and tell the fighter "Attack my target." This is the only way they should attack something that will give you a bounty - with the exception of the Power Play I mentioned above.

There was a bug shortly after 2.2's release, where the initial scan (which reveals wanted/clean) was not being shared between the mother ship and the fighter, which caused fire on legitimate targets to get you a wanted status. I reported it and haven't seen it happen since... which was nearly a year ago.

I normally have my SLF's set to Aggessive/Engage at will because they are better at switching targets to defend themselves from incoming fire. If I have them on defensive, they will often doggedly go after the threat to me and ignore the one to themselves. And if you have it set to "Attack my target" it will totally focus on that target regardless of what attacks you or it. This is fine when I'm only dealing with one or two hostiles in a Haz Res site, but not good in Combat Zone.

I would report this as a bug, unless you know you accidentally triggered the problem due to power play merits/cargo.

This is working as intended. They are only going to attack THAT target and then reset to whichever mode they were in before. In my case, it usually reverts to Aggressive/Engage at Will, because that's how I like it.

I would also suggest, if you're not doing it already, to stick to Haz Res sites and not High/Low Res Sites. Talk about false advertising... the stupid security forces in the High/Low are more likely to cause you trouble/threat than anything in a Hazardous Resource site. That's why I stick to Haz Res exclusively. As long as you have no cargo, nothing will attack you in a Haz Res site unless you provoke them first. Meanwhile, the authorities might deem you a threat and make you wanted because they stupid crashed into YOU at high speed and damaged themselves. Who needs that aggravation...

Wow. I've never had that happen with either of my Elite SLF pilots, nor my Master level one. The crossfire bit, I mean. The CZs? Oh yeah, rail eagles/Vipers (3 and 4), and Vipers/Cobras with seeker missiles wreck my SLFs. However, if I'm using my Elite pilots, those other ships have to be at least Master level, or my SLF will keep dodging them and eventually kill them.

My Fighter pilot is Elite, which means her comm chatter stinks. It was better at lower ranks. But yeah, it has happened. Not with any great frequency, just every once in a while. Not any big deal though. Unless I opt to take a nap in a combat situation, it would take more than just an instance of NPC's to actually damage one of my war ships.

But I usually go about in either an Orca or a Beluga, so if things go south, a boost or two takes me out of range of just about anything, and a high-wake is only a click away.

There was a bug where if you had your fighter set to the command Engage Target, it would fire upon that individual ship, and the next ship you target, and then after swap back. ( I only say was because this was a week ago and have not logged on since. )

Just had a short conversation with QA Mitch. He said this bug is already reported and I can require a removal via support which I did now. (Dont want to wait 5 days with a bounty which I didnt forced opon myself.) Again SLF normally is on defence with as soon as I find a pirate, attack my target. Thats how I did it most of the time and normally I didnt had a problem with it. Only barely And if only the 400 cr which are gone after 10 min. But this time I got the murder message and thats something I cant stand. Hope they will remove it so I dont need to wait 5 days to go back there.

Totally agree on the comm chatter. The minute both of mine hit Elite they became non-stop chatter boxes. "Watch out, Commander. This is a high ranked target" and other comments constantly. Also, they were usually wrong. A target is not a high rank/threat when I'm Deadly, your Elite, and the target is Expert or Competent! Ugh!

Also npc's constantly now fly into your line of fire, including your fighter's line of fire. Resulting in you receiving a wanted status.
Had this happen to me several times. Often they will cross your line of fire from a 90 degree angle, so you can't see them coming.

Somehow I think I am to dumb to understand the Ticketsystem of FD XD

Is just the text the already opened ticket, dont you recieve a mail that you opened one? SO already made one and can tell me?

"We better take the upper hand with this one."

Where's the "Maintain Radio Silence" order? Please!

My fighter enjoys firing on clean targets.

I have no idea why.

Kinda wish I could dock some of their pay. Lol

CMDR Cosmic Spacehead

welp with the 400cr for 10 mins I could have lived fine but the murder shortly before jump? Nope.
Ok it shouldnt happen at all. And I didnt had problems before today. At least not as far as I know.
