Fighting for Alpha

I've got a wild dog pack and it says you can have 27 individuals, something like up to 9 females, rest males. Currently i've got 3 females and I think 4 males, yet the females are constantly fighting and injuring each other. Even after they stop fighting I get the tool tip warning me about fighting for alpha status.
What am I doing wrong, how do I get rid of this annoying tool tip, do I just need more males, or can i really only have 1 female in my pack?

I think you can only have 2 females max for pack? Remember African wild dogs are completely matriarchal and female are dominant. I don’t remember if the max female number was 2 or 4, but a lot less than the males for sure (the total pack is up to 37).

That said, it will sadly not solve your problem. African dogs got broken on the latest patch while trying to fix wolves, and now act as a solitary animal no matter what the zoopedia says. That means that until they fix it, you can only have a maximum of 1 male and 1 female before they start fighting in a endless loop.

You are not doing anything wrong.
They was trying to enchance the pack behaviour for wolves and instead of that they completly broke
the fighting/injury system.
It is simply virtual animal abuse at the moment.
