Fighting Thargoids in Sol

I have a couple AX ships; one for Scouts and one for Interceptors.
Not sure how the Scout Killer will do against Scythe...
I dropped in to a non-human SS the other day and there was only a Interceptor there. What AXCZs are there in Sol now?
Do I bring the Scout Killer or Interceptor fighter?
o7 Humans!

As of last night no AXCZs yet CMDR. Only AX I NHSS signals and all pretty random. Level 6 with capital ships are the jackpot but need numbers of CMDRs otherwise can be quickly overwhelmed as there will be waves of multiple Basis & Dusas!

Scouts are limited, interceptors key target. Invasions, AXCZs anticipated next week but let see.

o7 & Godspeed,

It seems to be pretty random. I checked several threat 4 and 6 yesterday. Most of them either empty or only spawning a bunch of Scouts. Then I jumped into another threat 4. A wave of several Scouts, NPC ships and I killed them quickly. Second wave of Scouts... oh, wait... these are not Scouts. Two Cyclops, one Basilisk, three Medusas/Hydras (I never remember which is the toughest one).

Since I was alone, I did a tactical retreat by pushing boost button like there was no tomorrow. :ROFLMAO:

I hope we get multiple Capital ship location CZs, as we did at HIP 22460. That was the most fun thargoid fighting Ive ever had.
Unless of course the whole of sol has the anti guardian tech field thing.
In which case if the superpowers dont offer resistance paint for free from ram tah.
Ill just give it all a miss.

Hydra. Though, with three of them, it would have made little difference if it was that or Medusas. The NPCs would have gotten shredded within seconds regardless.

And those signal sources, they're definitely their own, different type of fun compared to the station CZs(it's really a shame that those are just 99.95% boringly easy Cyclops spamming most of the time). I used to have a bit more fun with them early on in the war, and one time I dropped into a threat 6 with a few Krait NPCs and maybe one or two Condas patrolling empty space. Guess what drops in... Hydra.

Like you, I turned around and away as quickly as I've probably never done. By that early stage I was still struggling to routinely handle Basilisks.

If it can kill a scout, it can kill a Scythe. 4 ax enhanced multi cannons will draw it down pretty quickly. Scythes don't do much damage, the scouts do more.

All you need to do to fight Scythes is to carry a life pod or passengers and jump from the system. They will launch hatch breakers that will steal your pods/passengers. Fit an ECM to a utility slot and tap it as soon as the hatch breakers attaches. A lite tap will kill it. Don't try to st the FSD shutdown missiles, keep the ECM for the hatch break. Point defense is ineffective, don't bother.

Once the invasion starts in ernest Glaives will start showing up, they look like a Scythe but can lightning attack and deal corrosive missiles, they are tougher to kill. Don't shoot one if it is shooting lightning at you.

If you have three Glaives your in for a lot of hurt. Switch to another that isn't lightning attacking you to keep the damage going.

You need a very fast ship to outrun them,.
