Fighting Vs Delivery speed for Fed Rank/ Prismatics?

Hey there. I really want the Fed corvette with Prismatic shielding. I got the gunship by being a glorified internet courier for the folks of Niu Hsing. That's not too bad on speed, but dear lord is it dull. If at all possible, I'd rather be fighting and engaged in the game, rather than being bored with the grind and wishing i wasn't playing it.

I was wondering if anyone has tried doing CZ stacked with slaughter missions. Is it comparable in speed? And what economy type gives the most slaughter missions, Military I'm guessing?

As for prismatics, I haven't touched PP with a 10 foot pole. Watching some videos on it, it seems like hauling their crap around is both boring and expensive. Is killing rival ships comparable in speed, or am i better just sucking it up and being a UPS driver? And if so, what's the best conditions to look for in a hunting ground?

For the Merit grind before hitting 4th Week in powerplay, just find an Anarchy system controlled by Archon, then make sure you have an interdictor (high pop systems seem to spit out more ships in Supercruise from what I've seen, not sure that's any sort of fact though). Just blow up every single Kumo Crew ship you see (wings are juicy and make for quick merits if they are in a wing). It's the fastest way if you have a combat capable ship.

As for unlocking the rank, I preferred using the Bank of Quince Planet Scans then took a jaunt over to 17 Draconis and gave the Feds all my money until I had the rank.... then I went back to Quince and now have the Empire Rank for a Cutter and am farming up the cash for one (and an Anaconda, and a Beluga...cause whynot... I need fancy things....).
