I have 500k bounty in the empire . the filters in the galaxy map don't change anything. I am in Dimoco system. can anyone give me a empire system name kinda close.." close being relative "

Hi. I had the same problem with my galactic map for weeks. Here's what fixed it for me and several other players:

Go to your
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\
and remove the "Player" folder. This will force the game to reinstall the folder and all the files inside it.

It also fixed some other problems I was having with my UI panels. Give it a try.

I didnt need to do anything except turn on population bubbles in map view. Then drag the max size slider to 50% (now you see almost all systems with population). Then just move downwards from SOL etc quite a bit and BAM, there they are, red blobs are Empire. Be warned though, FD changed Alliance color to almost the same red from being correct orange before. But Empire is far down under Lave, SOL and all the rest from the "pill".

This works for a very short time, at least for me it did. After a few restarts, or game hours, galaxy map filters stop working again, for me at least.
It hasn't stopped working for me yet. I'll make a shortcut to the Options folder incase it happens again. Thanks for the heads up.
That's worked for me too. You may need to validate games files as well, though - from the launcher.
Thank you so much! And +rep to you! Been having this problem and a few more (other options in game not toggling) for a while now, but this has fixed them all!
Even if your filters don't work, head for Achenar - as the capital of the Empire it's smack in the middle of Imperial space, you should start to see Imperial systems long before that though. Achenar will be visible from the galactic map without having to find the world specifically - as it's a capital system. It's -z axis galactically from Sol.
