Filters for Contacts tab and limpets

Not sure if anyone even reads this forum, but there is one thing severely needed in the game - Contacts tab filter. No matter what you do, sooner or later you begin to get annoyed by the lack of this QoL feature. Here's some examples:

1. Bounty hunting/CZ combat. If the instance has many ships they are sorted in some very weird way. Seems to be ship size first with range second with other things being underneath. And of course, if you want to see what materials dropped from a destroyed ship, be prepared to wrestle with the list. There are times when I don't want to see friendly targets, or cargo, or mats, and there is never a situation where I want missiles and mines clogging my contacts.

2. Thargoid combat. Pretty much the same as CZ, with one particular issue - the swarm is categorized as mine/missile/ordinance or what have you, with the same white color. This means that it is always underneath all of the players and other ships in the instance, mixed with AX missiles, and materials. And if anyone uses AX missiles, god help you select that swarm, as the list is constantly updated moving your selection to the beginning.

3. Mining. Mostly the same as previous, when your list is filled with some random grain dropped by an NPC trader and pirate's missiles, so you cant select your prospector. Also why do I need the ability to target my own collector limpets?

4. Various. Wakes, beacons, and many more, are things that tend to clog your list from time to time. I understand that the filter will be big but giving your players more control is a good thing.

Here's my rough list of filters for the contacts:

Friendly Ships
Neutral Ships
Enemy Ships (also thargon swarm should be in here)
Mines/Missiles/Other ordinance
Cargo
Materials
Mining Fragments
Prospector Limpets
Collector Limpets
Other Limpets (Recon, Repair, Decom, Hatch-breaker, maybe all in separate categories)
Wakes
Something else I forgot about

My second issue is with collectors limpets specifically. I remember this being brought up awhile ago, but there still seems to be no way to tell limpets to not pick some stuff up. I was fined more than once because my limpets scooped some illegal cargo dropped by pirates while i was mining. Also there is nothing more infuriating than trying to drop some limpets to make space for painite, and have collectors bring it back the same second. The cargo filters in Inventory tab seem to be only cosmetic.

It would be much appreciated if any staff at least acknowledged that they read this, and I'm not just venting air here.

+1

It would even be many times better if there were more "groups" in how the list was sorted (prospectors separate from other things, for example) and most things sorted simply by "age" instead of distance so the list doesn't jump around constantly while trying to select something.

Yes, yes and yes. Any sort of contacts filter would suit me down to the ground. We often have 40+ collector limpets between us in a wing... Add maybe 2-3 prospectors each... SLF's... 100-200 fragments... Not to mention our own contact as a vessel. This is before any pirates/system security contacts. Then to top it all off, the contacts aren't stationary. It's impossible to navigate.

To add weight to your second point, we suffer the same issue when mining in a Resource Extraction Site. Mining away, defend against the oncomers, now I'm holding illicit cargo.
I strongly believe that the 'Ignore List' has to be available somewhere in the HUD/GUI to allow us to ignore what we don't want before we even leave the station rather than having to wait until it appears to make a mad dash ensuring it goes on to said list.

Yes to all above, fighting the contacts menu is a pain.

Here's to hoping the Ch4 UI changes have already addressed some of these issues.

From what was shown in the first stream, nothing I mentioned was fixed. The Contact tab itself is a bit better but no sight of any kind of filters.

Hear Hear!

At the very least it would be nice if prospector limpets were a higher priority than collectors. Maybe then they would be more stable so I can select one prospector at a time to see asteroid composition.

How the years go by. Honestly, I am still baffled that this is still no thing. Even "ignored" items are on the tab and can't be filtered out. Why?
