Not sure if this should go into the Hardware section but as a I am asking specifically about Elite will start it here.

Anyone seen the Fin and think it would be useful as a control method in Elite ?

Have to admit, I thought, "Oh, Majere has quit and gone out with a little piece of film noir drama...".



Regarding Fin, looks interesting, I wonder if it's recognition speed and accuracy would be sufficient for ED? Like so many products of this ilk, it may be good if it's not time or precision critical. I wouldn't fancy accidentally going full tilt into an asteroid because I unthinkingly scratched my nose at an inopportune moment.

It would depend on which control method you were intending to use, I suppose. I think I could see something like this being useful if you were using a console pad but then I realised your thumbs will be moving continuously on the twin sticks which would probably confuse the heck out of the device. Possibly a replacement for the keyboard short cuts or added buttons if you're using a single joystick. I doubt it would be of any use if you're using a HOTAS control though. May make living with an OR or similar VR headset less hassle.

I don't know really. I don't think it's really aimed at PC's in general or games specifically tbh.
