1 x Cat species - the African Leopard - the only choice really as the last big cat species not present.

1 x Dog species - Maned Wolf - more SA representation and different from the current canids.

1 x Bear species - sloth bear - out of the three species I want (other two are spectacled and American black) this one is probably the most unique!

1 x Hyena species - the Aardwolf - technically an insectivore But would be a really unique pick.

1 x Mustelid species - wolverine - tossup between this and the ratel. But I think we could use some more temperate species!

1 x Seal species - Pacific walrus - really want a walrus in the game!

1 x Other - Ring-Tailed Coati - some more South American representation and a small, arboreal mammal. Fossa a close second.

Just did a quick tally up in the original post

Leopard is dominating the cat section, but other species in the running.
Maned wolf is utterly stomping canids - only one single vote wasn't for them!
Bear - spectacled is winning comfortably, though American Black Bear is solid! (Imo you are all sleeping on sloth, but so be it lol)
Hyena - all three remaining species have votes, striped winning easily atm.
Wolverine and Asian Short-clawed otter are currently tying for mustelids at 9 votes each!
People aren't that enthused by pinnipeds, but Walrus has got a solid 5 votes.
The Misc Other section has a tie between Coati and Fossa right now, and many people listed them both and I just tallied whichever they had first!
