Finally a painjob I really want!

Freakin` finally! Squadron paintjob for the Krait MK2!

So beautiful!

Bought instantly. Next up Krait Phantom? Please?

Fair enough, I reckon with a bit of paint deterioration it could look superb! It's not the sort of thing that would make me grab the wallet, like the chromed cutter or the irridescent clipper paints, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and you like this one, and you bought it straight away... "right on CMDR!"

Sorry, didn't mean to hurt some feelings. If it works for you it's all good - and each sold paintjob helps keeping the company alive: Double plus good. :D
... and sorry for the cheap pun with your typo :p
Wait, what?!? I... made a typo. Ohhh. Now. Yeah, awesome accidental pun...:D
I can't correct that myself, right? Mods! Please fix the type in the title. Thanks!

That actually made me laugh.

The squadron paints have always been some of my favorites.
The bright colored candy paints or bling bling metalic ones not so much.

Don't own the ship, but generally a fan of the more utilitarian, tactical aesthetic. (y)

Now if they could just make the rate at which paint degrades in supercruise one-tenth to one-hundredth what it currently is, that'd be great. Would be nice seeing my paint jobs for a bit longer out in the black.

Perception of visually pleasing objects depending on how they are painted is highly subjective and it can be ugly and beautiful at the same time. It's fine.

This is my favorite paint pack, and for my favorite ship.

To me, it totally matches the "lived-in universe" vibe that Elite tries to capture.

I love that it's a bit dirty with off-color patches. Fits well with my idea of a well-worn and heavily engineered ship.

This right here.
Space ships shouldn't look like toys. That's the main reason I don't like the vibrant and playful ones. You might argue that it's perfectly fine in a world where owning a space ship is like owning a cool car, and people can paint theirs the way they like, but for me it's annoying and breaks the simulation (see how I didn't say "immersion"? Though, it does break immersion for me.)
Same goes for all those vibrant engine and weapon colours.
The good thing is, that nobody else but me decides how I paint my ships, and I do not decide how you paint yours. :D

Some of the cosmetics are actually utilitarian though. Super bright colors makes ship spotting easier while out in an SRV, and I like having blue weapons; I can always tell my SLFs apart from NPCs by their weapons fire.

I presume you're not in marketing. In that regard, we're both lucky.

There are reasons why I like or dislike various things. Primarily, I like things that make some sense contextually in the game and have similar preferences for the aesthetics of my ships, generally preferring the utilitarian and tactile look, but occasionally also the hot rod display of bravado where likewise contextually apt.

Is true. Not really a fan of the squadron paintjob but I like how it looks for the Krait and Gunship.

Not only cars and it's not breaking the simulation if you consider these:

Tactical graphite is my colour of choice. Although I do use Gold Pharaoh on SMAC specific ships.

Also I am surprised FDEV have not started selling interior paint jobs. I would love to paint over the red of the Phantom with a nice tactical graphite.
