Finally had the free cash and now I am a VERY proud Elite Backer, I wish I could have afforded the pledge I wanted during the Kick-Starter but that wasn't possible ... But now I feel like I have brought into something Special ... Time to make a sig i think ....

@ Mobius ... I have tried it out and if you like the original the you should like the new one ... same issues as the original but I think that helps make the game

I played the original Elite on the BBC, then the ZX- Spectrum and the Spectrum 128k (With a disk drive !!!!!!) then on to all the other platforms (exept the C-64 I hate that machine !! it's like Arsenal Vs Tottenham .... if you like one you cannot like the other!) ....

I always thought that the Spectrum had better games and that the games that were 'Ported' to the C-64 somehow lost something ... colour wasn't important back then .. and I do HATE the C-64 - all colour .. no gameplay ...Grrrrr ! .... Thats my Mr T impression!

@Liqua .. from reading these posts we have the EXACT same experience of Elite.... Starting on a friends BBC to getting our own version on the Spectrum ... oh and dis-liking Frontier and the sequel .. here's for ELITE 2 ..and may the gods praise us !

Don't fret it. I also could not get on the kickstarter I pledged 4 Ish days after it finished.

I think that was most peoples (in the 80's) programing skills ...

... I actually managed to make a program that gave you every detail on an Album ..I.e .. year written, artists on the song, writers, producers .. and more all on the 48k spectrum .. oh, and a loading screen (it was rubbish) but still .. I miss the old speccy .. great learner comp .. I still have my rubber keyed 48k monster .. i want to frame it !
