Newcomer / Intro finally landed but...

I finally landed on a small platform ... yeah ...but
went to Worldlidge Terminal , got scanned ok, landing permission ok ...
now where do you land ,,, i looked all around the rolling ball up and down , inside out
crashed into it a few times ,, no landiing zone or those square little doors ....

why make it hard to see where to land ,

The entrance to the station is on the side rotating counter clockwise.

Your landing pad will be inside and marked by a number as it was when you landed on the platform. Be aware that your pad may be just under the entrance and you may have flown past it.

The holo of the station on your dashboard has arrows on several faces pointing to the entrance. Some docking tips in the give in my sig ;)

No, seriously. You don't need an external view for this if you just learn how to do it correctly.

Before you even enter the station, make note of your assigned pad and REMEMBER it. Say it out loud.... "docking bay 43" or whatever. (And you'll hear Obi-Wan Kenobi in your head, btw.) Get your speed down before you even get to the gate, don't do too much multi-tasking here.

The moment you're inside, LOOK OUT THE WINDOW. At the moment you enter, it will probably light up - of course, it won't be the only one flashing. This is where "REMEMBER YOUR PAD" comes into play. You don't want to be having to double-check your assigned pad and be looking for it all at the same time, while also remembering to slow down. It might be right under you (pad 1, for example.) Check your compass, it gives you the direction the pad is. If you absolutely don't see it, slowly fly to the end of the station, flip over, and look again. It's there. Occasionally I'll use "mouse look" to pan the view around, it can help too. Don't drop gear until you're right over it (again, avoid multi-tasking here). Hope this helps. :)

Also, once you're through the mouth of the station, your 'magic 8 ball' to the left of the radar will point to your landing pad :)

AAHH thats the thing. I can't find the door/entrence to get in , all the videos i've seen you go thru a slowing blueish rotating square , you line up and go in .... once inside you see the landing spot(number etc)

whers the door ... lol

the doors on the rotation type stations are facing the planet, if you approach them from the planet before dropping out of supercruise, the entrance will normally be in front of you. If it is a small outpost type , looks lamost like an L on its overlay, you dont go into it as such, untill you are docked and select enter hangar

Yeah I've found a few of them to be really awkward to find, once I knew the entrance was facing the planet it helped. That said it still isn't the easiest task, a few times I've just had to reverse away from the station, get my bearings and try again. Usually I find it straight away after that but you can get lost just circling around the things at times.
