Finally some players came across my system

So for the last couple days I've staked out this system ...bounty hunting like a boss in my eagle. Decided to move to a viper but the viper requires some pretty expensive upgrades to be as effective as the eagle was (though i had well over 600k in upgrades in that ship). Anyway, it's been slow getting the viper up to the task of taking on all wanted npcs silly enough to enter this sector.

It's quiet, i figure i'm off the beaten path and no commanders will come across my system but today I had 2 at nearly the same time. Of course, they're not "wanted" but exceptions must be made for exceptional situations. The first commander is dispatched quickly and earned me a nice bounty on my head that I took care of. The second one in a cobra kept managing to out turbo the viper and get away before being destroyed. I interdicted him 3 times and just couldn't seal the deal.

Then there was another commander that showed up in a viper and that battle just wasn't going anywhere. we were too evenly taking damage for it to be worth the risk so I broke off. Plus none of these guys were wanted so I was already in the hole just for starting the fight.

Pretty eventful day.

Psychopath is a perfectly legitimate profession. It doesn't pay very well, but it helps keeps bounty hunters in business.

And for heavens sake... It's NOT MURDER!!! ARGH! If you don't die (which you don't), you are not murdered. Assault, attempted murder (though seeing as we know the victim being attacked won't die, it's a stretch to call it attempted), perhaps, but not murder.

What about the slaughter of the poor pilot's pride?

Hey now, keep your hand holding "why can't we all just get along" nonsense for the communist systems, I roll with the Federation. At least until the game gets something akin to guilds or such in an effective manner.

I never said my profession was bounty hunter. Just that I was bounty hunting. Which is what I do for NPC's and it's effectively my job at the moment since that's how I make all my income. Fighting Commanders though, that's recreation since it's never paid anything for me, just costs me some credits (like a hobby).

Space is dangerous and nobody is innocent. Especially the silent ones. That's not "psycopathic" it's just practical.

I like this guy. Have some rep.

Most of the "psychopaths" in the game, including the OP, just pay off their bounty at the soonest opportunity, so no, they don't keep bounty hunters in business.

When you destroy another clean ship it says you have gained the bounty for "murder"

I dont get the whole psychopath mentality you guys seem to espout. Every human player is in the game to advance their status, make credits etc. If i see you in the game it is an automatic threat. You are in direct competition with me and aside from some group that we have agreed to participate in, we are now in direct conflict of eachother.

There is no clean human player. It's not a problem that you can pay off bounties yourself. Sometimes there are accidents. I've had many instances of NPC authority vesseles getting into the line of fire that needed paying off afterward. No human player is going to be "wanted" unless they just can't afford it ...or they're really really into their role in the game. I dont assume such.

All human players who dont announce their intentions are considered threats and as such, I will defend my hunting ground as best as i can. Do i find it fun to fight commanders? yes. Will i not fight one if i think their conversation with me is legit, yes. I've done it already. The silent will get violence by default. That is not psycopathic nor unacceptable. It's space and it's dark and the dark is full of dangerous things.

oooor, they don't want to be cowardly bores?
Full Disclosure: I pay my bounties with the Federation, it would just be too much hassle otherwise. Independent securities or you: come and get it.

More people showed up today. I shot some. Some ran, rather annoyingly by dropping in and out of supercruise or possible just exiting the game. To those that decided to communicate, I did not harass. I made it clear I just wanted to spar. Like i said, it's the silent ones that you need to worry about.

That being said, i did the thing every newbie does and turbo into a damn ship and blow myself up. Luckliy this wasn't against another human player but nevertheless. It kinda upset me and was all my fault, I even had a good 60k in bounties that ended up getting tossed. lesson be learned. If the other guy is playing the joust game ... patience wins out over eagerness. Either that or get some damn thrusters that are above your mass! 500k thrusters take a while to get though.

I really wish there was a log of sorts that let you know who you crossed since I can't remember half the crazy names people come up with.

Anyway, I'm in my new home system, minding my own business in my trusty Viper when I notice a ASP lagging across my radar. Switch to it, it's CMDR. Now, normally just being a CMDR in my system without saying hi is enough to get interdicted, 1.1 or no 1.1. As luck would have it, this guy was wanted by the federation. He obviously must die.

He of course, notices me and drops out of SC. I follow, and surprisingly he doesn't immediately log off like a total coward. Immediately it seems apparent that this pilot in an asp managed to get one without learning how to fly. He's shooting into empty space and such before I even open fire on him. I feed him some cannons (I dont do missiles) and drop his shields. As soon as his shields drop he frame shifts but not before I bashed his hull up, my viper is completely untouched (no shield cells equipped anymore). I follow because he unwisely didn't jump to another system. This time he drops out of SC and logs. I opened comms to him before he bailed SC but he never responded.

First commander to cross my path in a while. Probably wont again.
