Find best selling/buying station in the bubble

pretty sure i am not the first asking this questing but me and my friend couldn't find an answer on google.

We are trying to find a tool providing us with the lowest buy price and the highest selling price for commodities in the entire galaxy.

Lightyear distance is not relevant for us since we can hold all the cargo in a carrier.

Our problem is that we cannot find the selling/buying prices on eddb.io just for the vicinity of a reference system instead of the whole bubble/galaxy

That's why I said to just click on each commodity on the list in the link above, it then shows the lowest buy price and the highest sell price of all stations (That have been recorded by visiting pilots). Don't input your location..

Aside from Fennster's suggestion (which is great), there is also inara that is quite handy. I think you can look for systems near to where you are for commodities too, so see if it helps? Inara.cz

Click on each commodity and inara will have them on "best import" or "best export" tabs, even if it's on Colonia.

EDDB also works, you just don't input anything for the "find closest stations to buy or sell". Scroll down and there will be "maximum buying" and "maximum selling" tables.

A few more hints:
  • if you have anything specific in mind with that data, ask. Chances are, one or another of the EDDN frontends already has you covered.
  • all that data is crowd sourced. It reflects what one specific CMDR who had been running one of the feeder apps has seen when visiting that port. Which means, for most stations, it's out of date. And sell prices will likely be influenced by whatever that CMDR had in her/his hold at that time.
  • if you really have something interesting in mind, ask over in the Player Tools subforum. A snapshot of the raw database should be available - it's just rather large.

Danieros suggestion is absolutly great! but somehow we found a better place at eddb which is not even listed on inara

Inara filters out some older data, etc. in some commodity listing (like "best imports/exports") to provide as much relevant information as possible, which may cause the difference. You may be also interested in a brand new feature - best trade routes here. But as Ashnak mentioned, all 3rd party tools are using the very same data from EDDN, just presenting them slightly differently, so whatever suits you best. ;)
