Newcomer / Intro Finding a faction-specific station

So after playing a while I have amassed ca 200k in bounties for the Empire. At this point that is quite a lot for me. Now, I am currently nowhere near the Empire. At first I thought I'd have to fly to the next Empire-controlled system (ca 200 LY away), but then I thought that I could also go to a station that is controlled by a minor faction whose Allegiance is to the Empire and claim the Bounty Vouchers there.

Two questions:

a)would this work?
b) is there any easy way to find a station or faction whose Allegiance is to the Empire by using the Galaxy map? I'd rather not go through all the systems nearby and look at each of them - flying to the Empire would be easier if I had to do this.

There's an allegiance color filter available on the third tab in the galaxy map, easiest way is to enable that, turn off all factions except empire and then zoom out until you spot one.

A very good question, and I'm sorry I don't have an answer. Perhaps one for the Devs to think about.

From limited experience in Federation systems is I usually only find a Fed station in Independent systems, and not in Alliance systems. I.e. I don't believe major factions will have stations in the same system as each other (but happy to be proved wrong).

Like you, I only know how to find System allegiances from the Galaxy Map, not station allegiances. I'd start with looking at Independent systems in proximity to Empire systems, but by that point you might be better of trucking on to the Empire system itself. I've just visited my first Empire system to cash a bounty.
