Newcomer / Intro Finding a specific Minor faction.

Whilst bounty hunting and using my KWS for the first time, i gained a bounty of a few thousand credits for a minor faction as well as the federation. Is there an easy way to search for minor factions, or are they usually in the systems where you pick up the bounties?

Unless you used Kill Warrant scanner that shows galaxy-wide bounties, then the bounty you collect is for the current system only. Go to the system map and check the outposts and stations. You'll see which faction they belong to in the info.

I do have one problem with this, though, myself. I did some bounty hunting somewhere and forgot to redeem to bounty. Now I forgot which system it was and the info in the transactions panel only shows the name of the faction, which has no hint of what system it resides in. :D

Teehee, I haven't thought of that. Silly me. Well, it doesn't matter, now, because I managed to die in the meantime, which I was kind of happy about, because it finally disappeared from my transactions. :D

I did use KWS which is how i picked up the secondary bounty. When it did that I just assumed that the bounty was from somewhere else, and as the only station in the system was 300k Ls away I didn't fancy a run there. Also i forgot to cheeck what faction was there!

I cant remember, and i'm not near the game at the moment. I did think of just asking if anyone knew where it was, but i thought it better to learn how to find minor factions for myself.

As a side bar, is there some online facility to access galaxy and system map information?

If the bounty is for a local faction and not just Federation, Alliance or Empire it will almost certainly be from within the current system or very close - of course it's easy if the faction calls itself the XYZ Freedom Party.

Just look on the local system map and see if that party controls a station in the system. I think since the latest patch you can actually claim a local bounty at any station within the system that the have a presence even if they are not a controlling faction.

That's correct; if the faction is based in the current system there is no need for them to control a station to collect the reward; any station in the system will do. The only real issue is with factions that don't include the name of their system in their name. Fortunately, in my experience, this is a rarity.

All the same though, selecting a bounty ticket on the panel should show a more detailed breakdown, even if it's just expanding to show the nearest system it may be claimed, and the distance to it.

I now have this exact issue. :( A 26,000Cr bounty to cash in at "Gold General Solutions", which I think is around the 39 Tauri region, but searching for "Gold" doesn't help. There are hundreds of Golds in the game!! Anyone know where to go to cash this in? The game REALLY needs to tell us where minor faction bounties were issued from!

I did stumble on that list myself but didn't find the faction that I was looking for. My bounty isn't that much but 5k or so. It's Gold UNited Systems I'm looking for if anyone knows where they are.

You have the same exact issue I did. I found it through a Google Search:

It is in System GD 215. Over 300,000 Ls from the Star. Sigh. If I have to get rid of it, I guess it is time to buy a sidewinder and get stupid with it. I can make more money than a side winder would cost in the time it would take to track out to collect that bounty...

On the other hand, I am going to check nearby systems to see if they have a presence there....

I think that may be the only system it is in. I did the following Google search:

"gold united systems" site:eddb.io

I only found that one station. That rots royally...
