Finding different Class and Grade of weapons.

Do you just have to go searching every station or are they static right now? If i have a D2 weapon am i gonna be able to find the A2 of that exact same weapon? So far all i find is exactly the same list in every station.

No, you're not. The smaller class (1 and 2)weapons will only go up a certain level.

Weapons of a certain type are always the same rating. So a Gimbal Pulse C1 is always the same rating, there are no variations on it. Only worry about Class, Type (beam, pulse, multicannon, etc) and Fitting (fixed, gimbal, turret).

Well that is very disappointing. Frontier should also just remove the class and rank of the weapon then since its pretty much pointless.

It's not pointless at all. The letter rating allows us to compare effectives of different weapons.

If a Class 1 GIMBAL Pulse Laser is G, and a Class 1 FIXED Pulse Laser is F, then you know that the fixed version is more effective.

Just as the Class 2 Beam is rated D, it tells you at a glance that it's a better weapon.

In Beta sometimes you could buy modified versions of certain weapons like Overcharged Multicannon, or Low Heat Beam Lasers
seems that they had removed them for now, I am realy hope they are reimplement different versions of equipment, with different stats and look, at some time.

Giraud Ring @ Cartu system has a huge selection of Cobra-suitable Cannons, Frag Cannons and Missile Launchers, up to I think B2?

Only place I've found with a good enough selection in one place to kit out a fighter.
